Anyone else not care for either princess breakfast?

I may be the only one but I was not very impressed with the Cindy breakfast in the castle or the Princess breakfast in Norway. We took DD for her first birthday to breakfast at Cindys in July. It was cool to get in the park early and eat in the castle but, the meal and character interaction were very rushed and the food was just so-so. On our trip last week we tried the Princess breakfast in Norway. Again not very impressed. We had eaten our entire breakfast and had our bill before we ever saw a princess. The cheesy hashbrowns were good but everything else was pretty greasy. When the princesses came they all came one right after the other which kind of overwhelmed my DD. DD is 17 months so she really isn't into the princesses yet but she loved the costumed characters. I'm sure we will try at least one of the breakfasts again when DD is old enough to appreciate the princesses.

I agree with you. DD4 and I did CRT and PSB in December. Both were very rushed. Each princess was at our table for maybe 30 seconds before moving on. It was the worst character interaction we've had at a character meal. The food was ok at both of them, but not worth the $36 before tip it cost for the 2 of us to eat. I won't be doing either one of them again.

The first time we did CRT it was absolutely perfect... we had a table for two at the window and the breakfast was delicious and the princesses spaced nicely through the whole meal... also, the waiter was hilarious :D

The next time we did it... not so good, a long wait to get in, a table in the middle of the room, the princesses came all at once, and the food was icky (they didn't have the nice stuffed french toast anymore) and the waitress sucked.

We also did PSB and liked that very much...

My daughter is 11 now and getting passed the character meal thing, in one way it's great - but I feel a tiny bit sad, I remember our excitement heading to CRT for the first time :D

I agree. I was so excited that I got PS for both when we went last year, but it turned out to be 'no big deal'. Like others said, the princesses were rushed and the food was OK. Basically, they stop at the table, smile next to the kids, and move on. The only character that really talked to my dd was Belle (she was so nice and by coincidence we saw the 'same Belle' at both breakfasts and doing a meet and greet in Epcot). I understand they can't hang around forever and we weren't upset or anything, but it was the be all and end all of our vacation like so many people think. I'm glad we did it b/c I would be thinking I was missing something lol, but I'm not going to try to book it again. That reminds me, I need to book some meals for our trip next month!

We've done CRT three times and PSB once. We did both this past Dec. and were a bit disappointed. CRT food was OK- nothing spectacular but never really has been. But the princesses were more rushed this time than the times we had been before. The food at PSB was again OK, but the princesses were literally running between tables- we laughed b/c Jasmine was actually running between every table. However, DD5 was in heaven and that is why we do these meals. She doesn't care about the food. She doesn't really mind if they only stay 30 seconds- however Wendy at CRT stayed a long time and chatted with DD about Tinkerbell. DD is simply interested in seeing the princesses. And the look on her face is priceless. I don't know if we'll do PSB again- we did it to see Jasmine and she wasn't that great- saw a much better one at MK around the magic carpet ride. The Snow White at PSB was a joke- she didn't even come close to looking the part. If DD5 still 'worships' Jasmine as she does now- we may consider doing PSB again- but it will be doubtful. I do think we'll do CRT as long as DD wants to. She is convinced that Cinderella invites us each time. She loves eating in the castle- and so do I- and it is the cheapest meal you can eat in the castle. And it is magical. When she gets old enough that it loses its magic, we won't eat there anymore. But, we're going to enjoy the sparkle in her eyes as the princesses come to our table as long as we can. My suggestion is to wait until she is old enough to be into the princesses. DD was 2 1/2 the first time she ate at CRT and she loved it- she ran to Cinderella so hard that it brought Cindy to the ground almost- she did kneel on the floor so DD could sit on her lap and they talked and hugged for a long time- truly magical. The next trip she was 4- absolutely perfect for this meal. That experience can not be beat. She was so excited! And this trip she was 5- loved it, loved it, loved it. We don't go for the food- but for DD to experience the magic. Try again in a year or two!

Tink2, you can also find Jasmine in Morocco @ Epcot. Sometimes she and Aladdin are out on the World Showcase (this December we happened upon them!); and also inside one of the buildings, there's a character meet & greet area where she can be found.

thanks racheltori- we saw Genie in Morocco at Epcot. Jasmine was supposed to be there at noon that day- they kept saying any minute- 30 minutes later Genie showed up. His helper let him see a few people then he left to go 'find' Jasmine. We had already seen her at least 3 times- so we left. Thanks for the info!

We had a wonderful time at CRT in May 2004. The food was wonderul and we didn't feel rushed. The princesses took lots of time to talk to our party and pose for pictures.

Amy you're not the only one:
We've pretty much bagged PSB after 3 times, lousy everytime. Tried going back 2x after the first really bad time (bad food, bad service, waiting for a visit from someone for 45 min only to get all 4 princesses within 3 minutes). Gave it another chance, service better, princess shift better, food terrible and the last time food terrible, enough of that for what they charge.

Plus you are tied into these PS's once you hit the 48 hr mark (my dd got sick last time we were there and I would have been REALLY annoyed if I would have lost a dep. for breakfast because of it-luckily I didn't have any!)

CRT's food has gotten kinda "old" after the 2-3 times we've been lucky enough to get in there. But, the last time I did try the yogurt and granola thing and frankly I was impressed, it was rather good!

But, DD never eats at these things so I'm quite happy the princesses have been much more available for meet & greets throughout MK & Epcot so we can skip the breakfasts and save our $$ for better meals! I do miss getting into MK earlier and walking down that empty Main St though :D

I agree entirely with Tink2. We took our DD3 in August. We didn't have a great table, I don't even remember the food (but I'm not much of a breakfast food person anyway) and we did have to wait until the end of the meal until we saw the princesses. They came spaced about 2-5 minutes apart, so it was like one fell swoop. However, my daughter noticed none of this. She anxiously awaited their arrival the whole time, and was absolutely enthralled.
The look on her face was worth everything...

Wev'e done CRT 2 or 3 times over the years and PSB once. Food has been unexciting (not bad, not good), but since I never expected much more than that, I wasn't disappointed (for a charcter breakfast with good food, try the Cape May Cafe; the buffet there is really good and you can pick what you want, rather than receiving the pre-plated meal).

As to character interaction, we had one really good experience at CRT a few years back, where the characters came not all at once and were able to spend some quality time with us. Last two visits (CRT in 2003 and PSB in 2004), however, were among the more "rushed" variety. Given these recent experiences and the cost of the breakfast, I am going to try to avoid these in the future.

On a related note, later in the same day that we did the PSB in 2004, we ran into Aurora and Snow White near the Int'l Gateway. It was the same Aurora we had seen earlier that day at breakfast. At this later meeting, however, there were very few people around and we got to spend significantly more time with the characters. This, in my opinion, is the much better way to go to see the Princesses!
