Am I the only one?

I usually book at 330 days out but this year at 330 days out prices were already very high and then when Jetblue came out, very high also. Now Southwest came out (end of Oct) and the good times are already taken and still pretty high prices anyway.

I still haven't bought hoping for a sale.

Right now Delta is over $300 and Jetblue is $407! :(

Southwest is also over $300.

What to do what to do?? Am I the only one?

I am planning on going Oct 16th - 23rd and haven't booked my airfare yet eirther. I am really just looking for a nice Ding fare or a sale from Southwest since I have $100 in credits to use there. Probably will just end up buying whatever I can get in about 2 weeks and then get credits if the price goes down

I booked our Oct 21st flights back in Feb. with Delta. Yep, I know, risky!! But, I got non-stop flights from Logan to MCO at the times I needed, for about $177. Can't touch that now...it was almost worth all the stress of the past months. However, I booked JetBlue for my Dec 7 flight..much cheaper than Delta. I think that one was $240 area but since I had a credit voucher, it came to less. Now, here's hoping the flights don't change too many times. Delta's have changed a total of 5 times. JB hasn't yet, but they did change my dh's flight in May, so it's not outside the realm of possibility.

Add me to the list of those waiting for an awesome Ding fare for October/November! I actually bought our tickets via Delta for our March 2007 spring break when they first went on sale. It's impossible to find decent airfare since so many schools here are off the same time.

I really think that Southwest will come thru with a good sale for this fall!

I'm going Oct 20 and I really don't want to pay the airfares I'm seeing now on SW and JB. I've given myself until Aug 1 and then I'll have to just book something.

Oh, I hope you are right! It's so hard though seeing the good times with "unavailable"!!

Glad to see I'm not the only one though.

I got good airfare for our trip on 8/30 - 9/4 on SW. When the dates were first released, they were not so good, but I booked anyway because I was afraid that the prices were not going to get any better. I had watched JetBlue and AA fares skyrocket while I was waiting for SW to open my dates.

Sure enough, SW released some great sales/Dings and I ended up changing several times to take advantage of the better prices.

We started out at $261 pp rt PVD - MCO and we are now down to $120 pp rt.

If you travel a lot and think you may be going back within a year, I would go ahead and book you preferred dates/times on SW and watch for the sales. Then you can just use the credit for another trip.

I just got an awesome fare for our November trip on Delta. Nashville to Orlando for $117 rt. Just keep looking, a week ago the lowest was $289 rt.

Hello MA contingent!

Add me to list of slow bookers. Waiting for a ding for Nov. Unfortunately, if prices aren't good- I just won't book. Im not sure about the good fares being sold out already.- Im keeping my fingers crossed.

I watched and waited until about 8 weeks out to get my tix because that's when the southwest specials started. I would wait until mid august and then decide. by that time the fall specials should start with the kids going back to school.

I booked back in April for October and paid $240 round trip from South Bend, IN to Orlando. A few weeks ago that same ticket was $540 and is now down to $370. Hopefully they will start coming down again soon. I chose to gamble and book early just because I had heard prices would be sky rocketing. With my luck, they will be down to $100 soon!

8/25 -9/3 BDL - MCO - BDL SWA

Booked when the dates first opened at $283pp (yuck!)

dropped to $227pp - got a credit

dropped to $137pp got a bigger credit

a great excuse to go on another vacation!!

Booked ours back in March, but then being international, the prices only ever seem to go up  unless you're prepared to wait till one week before and pray!

So far, my flight times have never changed, so i'm lucky i guess! *looks anxiously over shoulder*

I booked airfare for our October trip right at the 331 day mark (on Delta). I paid $178 each ($535 for the 3 of us). Unfortunately, they are not non-stop flights.

We used to fly on ATA (non-stop) but they don't fly out of Indianapolis anymore. :sad2:

Booked Delta yesterday as they dropped the price for Columbus to Orlando from 270 to 204 round trip --- so you may want to check your routes

I booked in June for 10/21-27. SW-$59 ea way from Hartford to MCO. I am very happy with the fare but would prefer Manchester as it is a little closer to us. But I can certainly live with Hartford for that price.

I'm in the same boat.... and I'm afraid my situation isn't going to improve because I'm loooking to depart over the Columbus Day weekend. My only hope is that Ding! fares have been through September 30, and not much for October.

We're prepared to drive, but don't really want to.....

If you don't buy soon, you maybe driving to WDW instead. Good luck.

I would rather drive than spend $1000 on airfare.

Booked SWA about three weeks ago for my Oct trip.

Direct out of BUF to MCO
Return RSW to BUF

$950 tax in for five r/t

I figured book while I can and the prices weren't to bad at the time. If a DING comes up or cheaper fare I will just take the credit. Also, I wanted to book while I could incase there are any future problems that cause rates and fuel to skyrocket.

Still looking for a good car rental rate. I currently have a mini-van @ $350 tax in for 12 days and a SUV at $326 tax in. Hoping for some last minute deals, but will also try Priceline in the last two weeks for cheap rates. :thumbsup2
