Anyone Else Love the Signature Cheese Plates

One of my favorite items at the Disney signature restaurants is the cheese plate. Almost all of the signatures have one, and they tend to change on a regular basis. Right now, my favorite is at Jiko because it's all goat or sheep cheeses.

In all my dining experiences, I've only seen one other person order the cheese plate. I know it's a little pricey, but if you're a major cheese lover it's well worth it. Am I pretty much alone, or is anyone else as addicted to those wonderful cheese assortments as I am?

(If you are, a warning...Citricos has one, but it's only on the dessert menu so you have to ask if you want to order it as an appetizer.)

Yep, and soon to be 63 as we're doing the Panama Canal crossing later this month (I am soooo excited!!).

Yes -- our favorite is the cheese plate at California Grill. Delish -- and quite spectacular when it arrives. Last time we ordered it, one of the managers arrived with it -- he looked very proud and quite pleased as we oohed and awed over it!

I tend to order the cheese plate as my dessert anyway. I am a cheese lover period. I tend to not like it as an appetizer becuase it can be to over powering to my palate depending on the cheese selections.

I LOVED the cheese plate at Yachtsman Steakhouse. It was so delicious Then again, I'm a sucker for a good cheese plate. If you're ever in Sonoma, CA, The Girl and the Fig restaurant has the best cheese presentations in the world. I dream about that place!

We ALWAYS order a cheese plate when dining out. We too are CHEESE LOVERS. We LOVE to try new cheeses and the best way to do that is when out to dinner.

Alas, a few years ago, you could count on each of the Disney Signature restaurants having different cheese offerings during your visit, now there seems to be more of that "commonality" in dining options that lower the wholesale prices for Disney but also lower variety for those that eat prodominantly at the Signature restaurants.

Very true. As much as I love CG, it has looked the same for 2 years. Although the cheeses may change on occasion, it looks the same and has the same plate pairings. I would like a better variety. Luckily I have quite a few retailers near me that sample cheeses and I had the luxury of working in the industry. I still keep my professional credentials and subscriptions updated to be able to get into things like the Fancy Food Show.

Speaking of cheese, if anyone has any great recipes containing goat cheese, please PM me. My DP has a birthday this week, and I haven't finalized the dinner I will be making. Can't say anything more, she is a DISer.

The two I've noticed that still seem to be changed the cheese and accompaniments are Jiko and Flying Fish. Artist Point seems to have had the same cheese for quite a while now (but I still order it as they are still yummy).
