Anyone else loose a Christmas gift!

I am pretty sure it is in the house somewhere, just have no idea where I hid it. I guess I am shopping tonight for a new one. Luckily it was only 15 dollars. I found everything else. It is going to drive me crazy, until I find it. I can always give it to toy for tots, if I find it before Christmas, or a Birthday present later in the year.

I have a closet that I put all my gifts in so usually I don't lose them, but my mom hides them and can't find them all the time. Sometimes I'll be over her house say in March and she'll hand me something and say "Merry Christmas, I couldn't find this in December." Last year I cleaned out 1/2 a closet for her to use and that seemed to work pretty well, but there was a missing bag of stocking stuffers that I don't think she ever found.

While cleaning out a closet a few weeks ago, I found the three gift bags that my mom sent the kids for Halloween! I received them early so I stashed them away... and then promptly forgot all about them. The kids didn't mind... they were glad to get some more Halloween candy.

My mom used to do this every year! I havent purchased a single thing this year for anyone but my toddler, and his stuff is all in one spot, so nothing lost this year. My mom found quite a few things the year they moved...

I loose things every year. I have 4 kids, 2 son-in-laws, 2 grandkids, 5 siblings, lots of nieces and nephews and 1 patient husband. There's not enough room in any closet for everything. I have big things in the garage, small things in the bottom of my garment bag, stuff on top of the shelf, stuff under beds.....every year some gift goes missing.......my family says they love guessing each year who has the missing gift. One year I forgot a long standing boyfriend (completely......I never bought anything) That was the worse.

Guilty!!! Every year I vow to put all the presents in one spot, but life happens and that sometimes doesn't work...I also make a list of what i've bought and what I need to buy...Well this year I lost that for a while. Found it yesterday....

The worst was a few years back. We had kept everything in DH's trunk. I went to wrap and he had emptied his trunk and put the gifts somewhere, but couldn't remember where. Found them in the garage in a pile of junk....

I lost one last year that I didn't find until this past summer. Fortunately it was just an "extra" gift for someone, not the "main event" gift. I'll be giving it as a gift this year......assuming I haven't lost it again....

My mom would do the same thing. She would buy something for Christmas, hide it, and then can't remember where she hid it. By July, the following year, she would find it and then give it to me. So I usually had presents come to me in July .

But now that I am on my own I don't get presents in July anymore .

Most times when we loose a Christmas gift in our family it's because my mom has a habit of labeling them wrong. Last year I opened a gift and it was filled with clothes she had bought herself for Christmas and many years one of the younger siblings will open something and you'll here a "oh no, wait wait wait! We've gotten used to it.

I still have not found the puppy that I bought. I went out and bought another one. I have been in every closest and tote, and it is not there. I know it will just show up someday. It is just driving me crazy. I don't mind losing it, I just would like to know where I put it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When my grandmother passed away, my father had the chore of emptying her house (she was a bit of a hoarder). He found a lot of gifts obviously for my brother and I (and probably our cousins). Pity they were 30 years too late - we would have liked them too as they were much nicer than the gifts we actually received.

I've bought things and forgotten I bought them. One year (the year Legally Blonde came out on DVD) I got bought a copy for DD in November and stashed it away.

A few days before Christmas DD told me she really wanted Legally Blonde, so being a good mother I went shopping on December 24th with one mission. To buy a copy of Legally Blonde.

Later that day when I pulled the bags out of my closet to wrap, I discovered that I had fought hoards of Christmas Eve Shoppers at Wal-Mart to buy a gift that was already stashed in my closet.

I do that every year too! Just yesterday I found a WRAPPED gift from last year! I have no idea what it is but I am putting it under the tree this year!


When my grandma was alive we would finish opening presents and she would ALWAYS say, "Wait, something is missing!" We would all hope it was US that she was talking to!!

I have a DVD for one of my nephews missing now....Hoping that a different nephew isn't getting 2 (those presents are wrapped and at my Dad's house already...)
