No one from either side of our families own DVC-just us. In fact, we have been members since 2000 and still haven't told our family; I guess this is MY best kept secret
What's wrong with just being welcomed home at DVC?
OT, the only family members I have that own DVC are one of my cousin's husband's parents and my grandma's sister- and I didn't find out about either until AFTER I became a member myself!
We joined and my sister joined within a year of us buying. Since then have come to find out that my aunt's niece is a member (we gave her our referral) and my mom's brother and his family are also members. Both of them have been members for many years though.
I do not know one other actually living breathing DVC member...all I know are ppl who are too cheap to buy in but are always willing to help me spend my points (no WAY !!!)
There are a few people that live close we know that are members. My family thinks were crazy. You start talking DVC or Disney and they look at you like you have two heads.
Bunch of moochers in my family. Already asking me when next years vacation is.
Actually, both of my sisters have talked about ownership but neither one is at a comfort level right now to lay out that amount of cash. Although one of them is debating on doing small add purhcases in the resale market.
My Mom would love to buy, but at 65 just feels it wouldn't be the best idea. I told her that she could pass it on in her will but I don't think she wants to bother with it. We lost my Dad two years ago unexpectedly. Time is precious so Mom has an open invitation on all of our trips.
Another one with a bunch of moochers. My DH keeps asking why we need so many points when it's just the two of us. I purchased with taking our grown kids and grandkids along, but I guess he likes to give me a bad time once in a while.
We've only once used a studio, all our other trips require a 2 bdrm or more.
We are definitely the only DVC members in the family.
They all think that we have completely lost our minds.
I'm sure that WHEN they go to the probate judge with the commitment papers, our joining a timeshare will be the leading piece of evidence. The DIS will be the 2nd.
They're coming to take me away. he he. They're coming to take me away.
hi
My sister bought a little after me , we are disney lovers both of us ..as for others well they don't quite get it also but who cares DS & I love disney
One of my cousins who I haven't seen bought into AKV about 2 mos before we did- He and his wife and girls had also been going to Disney about twice a year every year for the last 5 years prior to that-
I happened to find out when we were about to sign (bytalking to my mom) so I used him as my referral and ended up getting the gift card for $500- for having a referral and he got $250-
He was surprised when I called and told him!
We still haven't gotten own at the same time yet to WDW-
We will be there again in July for our 2nd ever trip! My cousin, I know is going in November.
