I can't remember the last time we were able to get a King Bed room at HRH. No matter what dates we put in, all the rooms are 2Q. (Talking std/pool view, no paying extra for Deluxe at HRH just to get a King Bed).

Did I forget the secret handshake?! We always managed to snag a King Bed in the past, but recently no such luck. :confused3

suggest you call the hotel directly and ask them if they have king beds available for the dates you want to book.

i have found some type of rooms not available when i use the booking website but called the hotel and was told they were available.

Raven, I will give you 1$ cash money to call for me. Or a jack at HHN....

I wonder if they switched the standard king rooms out for 2 queens. I know they still have deluxe king but you don't see standard king coming up in the reservation system anymore.

I think something may be up :confused3....perhaps they are changing rates? We have a Deluxe Queen SMSR rate booked for August and those rates are not even showing up today for HRH or RPR. I have seen the King rooms show up everyday before today...yes I'm a bit OCD when waiting for prices to drop. I usually check a couple times a week :sad2:

Oops meant King Deluxe in my post!

As of now, they have still have King Deluxe rooms for our HHN trip. As of 3am last night they did, I should say.

When we went over New Years, we were waiting at the Beach Club for our room to open up, and we wound up chatting with a couple saying they had been there since 6am waiting for a king room. They were offered a 2 Q, which was ready for them hours ago, but were still waiting on a King at 4 pm. We had a 2Q to start with, but I figured it was because we booked late during a crazy busy time.

BTW, Mike and I were trying to figure out ...why is the Queen Deluxe 100 sq ft larger than the King Deluxe and the same price? Seems crazy for us to spend an extra 333$ for an extra 25 sq ft. (375 v. 400) just to get a king bed. Meanwhile, the 2Q Deluxe (listed at 500 sq ft) is the same price as the King Deluxe. What am I missing? Deluxe rooms at HRH are one of the few room types we haven't stayed in.

The deluxe rooms use the space where the hotel makes the turns...the rooms are oddly angled.

Here are the floor plans...

We liked the queen deluxe because it gave us two queen beds and a full pullout for those times when our kids got older and didn't want to sleep in the same bed anymore.

It looks like the king deluxe and the queen deluxe have different footprints and a totally different layout.

i have stayed in the deluxe 2 Q rooms a couple of times at HRH when i haven't stayed King Suite.

i like how you have a 'sitting area' before the bedroom.
it is walled off from the rest of the room.

i like the layout of the deluxe rooms.

Thanks, Rave...may take you up on that once we figure out if we want to do a Wed-Mon or Thurs-Tues.

So if the deluxe rooms are in the corners, I'm guessing they are not near the elevators? That is the one thing about Hrh where we've always requested and always been accommodated....a room near the elevators, on the first hallway.

I swear there is a layout on here that shows the layout of the hotel and rooms....hmmm, maybe it was the RPR since that's where we stayed last time. I'll go look and post back if I find it
:)

Curious, since one has to call to find out: how much per night for a King Suite?

You can check king suite rates online at hrh.

Thanks!! They had the book out (of the floor plans) when we were checking in last month, and I so wanted to swipe it!! Evil jodie...

there were deluxe rooms on club last time i was there.
i'll let you know the numbers later.
i have notes on them.

the 2 Q deluxes i have stayed in are not near the elevator.
nice view but a hike of 2 corridors to the elevator.

btw, i'll take the jack instead of the $1.

you can go to room77 for that info.

the site is outdated for some of the rooms/hotels.
i have found errors in it.

some that used to exist, don't anymore.

use it with caution as you don't want to book a room and find out it isn't what you wanted once you get it.

A girl after my own heart!

I don't think we're going to do club...happy hour at NBA City is way cheaper than club, lol.

Sure don't want a room thats a hike from the elevator. If airfare were out already, I'd just call the hotel.

Omg, I hate posting from my cell....

the deluxe king is 400 sq ft.
the deluxe queen is 500 sq ft.

i did find the standard king room but only on club at hrh.

that could be only club due to the dates i put in the system.

Yeah, I wonder what is up with the no king bed rooms coming up in the system. Whether I call the UO hotel line or book online, changing dates (the middle of September even when no one goes) ... no king bed rooms. Have to wonder why ... it's a popular place for couples (as well as the other 2 onsite hotels, but the other 2 hotels do have them available.).

I'm going to have to see if I can dig up any of my old contacts at the hotel and see if I can book through them .

BTW ... As of 3am the SMSM rate was available for the dates we were looking at in October. Gone today. Don't know if it's a fluke or what. Hoping it comes back.

that smsm promo rate is valid for the rest of this year.

when i went on the site to check something out, i received the message the site is down temporarily.
