Anyone else having trouble getting a discount?

I have called and called and called, the day the rates were released, the day after, the week after, etc. I have tried room only rates, AAA, AP rates....I have never had so much trouble getting a discount! They just don't have any available for anything except like GF or BC Club level....not quite in my budget!

Is anyone else having this problem right now?

The issue probably has to do with your travel dates, is my guess. There are a lot of block out dates associated with some discount codes. Could also be a resort/room type availability issue.
The more flexible you are, the more apt you are to work with a discount.

Might I ask what time you are going around? We are going during the second week of december and there is no AAA room discounts for the Polynesian. We are just hoping that they will release a room only discount for ALL the general public, and NOT just a select few states.

You won't get a discount during busy times or more popular times (especially if large groups are booked). Discounts are only offered to fill rooms when guest are not willing to pay full price to fill them. What are your dates. Keeping in mind that holidays are always blacked out from discounts because the resorts are full....no need for a clearance sale if there is no stock to sell.

There are no AP discounts for that timeframe either. I plan to go this time, next year, so was checking to see what I might expect. Nothing comes up and it says there are no resorts available for that time frame (12/10-12/13). So I'm expecting to pay full price next year. It's better to know now than to wait and hope for a discount that won't happen. It's probably got a lot to do with it being pop warner week and mousefest week. Plus with the parade taping, it's caused others to move their plans.

Well, thanks for your input, but I know all the reasons that discounts are hard to get. And if I didn't, every CM has told me...I'm just curious if anyone else is having trouble. My dates are in Oct., and it's just for 2 nights, so I asked the CM yesterday if she thought that was the reason. And she told me all the things you all just told me. Which didn't answer my question.

The dates are not black out dates, or a holiday weekend that will be busy. They just seem to not have anything open - even when I'm flexible. We've checked moderates, deluxe, and DVC, just in general, with no view specifications or anything.

So thanks for the help, but if anyone has some empathy because they are having the same problem, I would love to hear it!

I'm not going in october, but it seems as though everyone is wanting and booking with the discount codes because of the current economy situation. I know December is far away, but I called again today to see if they had an AAA discounts and there were none for one night. It's beginning to make me angry. I can't really compare myself to you because I only have two options for discounts--either AAA or a room only discount code if they release it.

I guess it has something to do with people wanting to save money and that is understandable.

I had checked the WDW website this am. It looked like there was a new code MXK for 9/28 through 10/9. Maybe this one will help you. There's also QXG from 9/28 through 12/23. We're going in December & unfortunately during Pop Warner. It was quite difficult to get a AP code!!! Good Luck!!

Yup, I've had nothing but bad luck since February! Go figure...I must have told a child there was no Santa in a prior life, or something....
