Anyone else having probs with Thomas Cook Select?

We fly on Sunday and our branch still has no tickets for us!! They are hassling TC Select to death and they keep promising to email the tickets and we still don't have them!! I have to phone back today after 3 pm as they have promised they'll be there by then!! Starting to panic slightly!

We have been on and booked out seats on the Virgin flight and we have all our orginal booking stuff so I'm not worried that it's not booked but we still need a ticket to go and our park tickets and stuff!!

We had problems with TC with the same thing a few years ago. We flew out on Good Friday (which was a holiday so the branch wasn't going to be open). I was phoned late afternoon - I recall it being around 4.30 or so - on the Thursday, as in the day before to say that my tickets and vouchers were there.

By that stage I had already contacted VA and been advised that I didn't need the paper ticket as my reservation was in the system and was to simply arrive with my passport. BMI gave me the same story for our connection, as did Disney re. the package accommodation etc. The one thing that you will need in hand is your park tickets if you are waiting for hard tickets however. I would be putting the pressure on them now if I were you.

Are you at work at the moment? I know it is not the best use of time when you have other things to do, but takig a magazine and making yourself comfortable in their office, explaining that you are not leaving until you have your tickets .... is very effective. (Not done it with TC but it worked with the bank)

I'm off work but it is a good friend who actually booked it for me so I KNOW that she's on the case hassling them! I have been in the last two days and witnessed her making several phonecalls then phonecalls to the person above the person she spoke to and also have witnessed another member of staff doing the same. I have no doubt at all that the staff in my branch are doing everything they can to help me and are banging their heads as they keep being promised the email which isn't coming! I've to call back this afternoon!

We have the flight details so able to check in for that so probably ok there. What we don't have is the voucher for park tickets or the vouchers for the Magical Express!! or a ref no for our hotel booking!

I have booked with TC Select before though only ever on TC flights. Not sure I'll be doing it again! Other than the service I get in the branch I've not been overly impressed with my last few TC experiences! :-(

I had almost a mirror experience to yours.

Same story with the most outstanding in-branch service. I couldn't fault the staff I dealt with. However, same thing when it came to taking it higher up or outside the branch ..... nothing. And as you probably suspect, I have never booked with them again.

I am sure they will get it sorted for you. They have to make some arrangement in the event that they don't deliver.

I got confirmation from the branch today that they have our tickets so will pick them up tomorrow! Phew!!

I had another bad experience with TC before and I've actually managed to forget what it was but I remember sending an email saying how helpful the branch staff were but what a disaster everything else was!! It's a shame coz I like my friend getting the sale but I doubt I'll go back. Last year we booked direct with Virgin and Disney and it was hassle free. TC were a fair bit cheaper this year though!

Anyway we are good to go - phew!!
