anyone else having problems

I took my autograph pages to staples for them to print and bind and told me NO WAY . I then asked if I printed it would they bind it and again I was told NO WAY . They said its copy right infringment. Now I have no way to print my autograph pages off and have them bond. I dont thing my printer would hold up to all that printing and it would cost me a fortune for all the ink. Anyone know of any other way? PLEASE HELP ME

OMG that is just terrible! I haven't tried having it print out but wow, talk about making you feel bad!!!

I have decided that if I am going to make my own book that I am going to borrow and disigners idea and get a book that has binding I can take apart. I found a "sketch" book that has 100 pages and is around a 5x7 ish size (sorry I don't have it in front of me). I was going to figure out how to print directly on the pages (well, removing them first ) and then putting them back in and smooshing the binding closed again.

I know you said you didn't know if your printer would hold up but other disigners have said they do theirs on a fast copy (less ink) and that it didn't even use up the whole thing of ink. For me that still would have been cheaper then making 2!!!

I am sorry to hear that they are being so mean!!!

I don't know how thick your book is (how much you have to print)...

I just finished printing

3 journals, full color, every page
4 activity books, 80% black and white, rest full page color

Plus just the various printing we do in our house.

My printer just now started blinking that it needs new ink.. which means I can get a handful more things printed (iron on transfers!)

So. it might take less ink thank you think.

As for binding. I spend $60 and bought a binding machine from staples.com (through Sunshine Rewards, of course). The binding coils costs $5 for 25 of the 1/2 inch size. I laminated the front and back covers, to add bulk, and the middle pages were printed on cardstock for the journals, and heavyweight for the activity books.

So.. it wasn't free, by any means, but I figure it will pay for itself VERY quickly. If you live anywhere near me, I'd be happy to bind them for you.

You might also try going on another day, talking do a different employee. Maybe a mom.
Kinko's does binding. I bet other copy centers do as well. Just explain it is for your kids, you will NEVER sell it (you promise!)

I tired the its for my kids and the staples lady was an older lady ( most likely mom) I told her it was a surprise for my kids for their surprise trip and she was like NO I told you we wont print any image that is a copy righted image. The other person was a young guy very nice and understanding but he said sorry Warner and Disney are quick to sue for things like this and I told him no one would know I got it printed here except me and you and I aint telling. He said sorry he just couldnt do it.
I will try to print them out myself. I just know my printer seems to eat up alot of ink but will see if I have a quick print feature.
Wish I lived closer to you but I live in Pittsburgh PA far drive to you. LOL

It was just so upsetting that everyone else seems to not be running into what I am. But I will figure out something.

Ok if I print off my own auto book which ones should I include? We arent doing any character meals. We will be in MK for 3 days and the other parks for 1 day each. I dont want to have to have alot of blank ones bc I missed to many. If you printed your own which ones did you all put in yours?

I printed two 5 x 7 autograph books on "best" print setting and it used all my ink - but that was $50 to replace all the ink. Not sure how much ink your printer uses, mine is a HP C7280.

Also, I would try another office supply store or even the UPS store?

BTW I get mine bound at Office Depot and they don't give me any problems. You are allowed to use the designs as long as you are not selling them from the little I know about all that. I do print mine at home first and then take them in to be bound.

It doesn't look like it's still available at staples (I just bought it about a month ago though)

I know Office Max and Office Depot have copy centers and I know for a fact at least one of them (I always get them mixed up) has binding. Maybe try there or try a different Staples.

Another option is to try the UPS store if you have one. i called them and they were going to cut me a deal on the cost of printing if I printed it all with them. It was 49 cents per color copy at Staples and they were going to do it for 35 cents per page at the UPS store. I talked to them about what I was doing and they said it wouldn't be a problem at all. They said it wasn't a violation since I was using it for personal use. Just a thought.

I looked up perfect binding (that's with glue) on the Internet and found some directions to do yourself at home. Gonna give it a try next week with a sample project. I don't go until September, so I have time to get all the kinks worked out.
