I'm really having work "burnout". I hate my co-worker, I can't stand coming here every single day. I wish I never left my previous job and I want to go back. :(

I always was a Legal Secretary . . .my last job I was there almost 6 years . . .I had great bosses, great hours and I was very much appreciated I don't think I ever worked anywhere that I felt so comfortable and that I enjoyed going into work every day. Problem was that it was a Real Estate Attorney's office and between 1998 and 2000 the market was very slow and business was very slow and we didn't get raises at all since 1998 . . .Cost of living was up and I had some debt and I couldn't live the way I was with a small salary. Soooo I half heartedly left to work at the Board of Education.

I've been here since October 2000 and my hours absolutely are terrible . . .I have to be in every day at 7:15 which means I never get to see my kids off in the morning and that really makes me upset . . .The money is good though and I've been used to getting this really nice paycheck every week, but I'm getting burned out . . .I have a co-worker who since January has been out 32 days either vacation, personal or sick time . . .she has finally run out of time but she still continues to be absent (non-comp) she is nosey, bossy and loud and I don't think I can take anymore.

I want to go back to my 9 - 3 job . . . :(

I feel SO unfulfilled at my job...I want to be making a difference. I feel as if it's just a big waste of time, just a way to pay the bills. I really want to work in an animal rescue org. I'm volunteering to write for our local shelter (ads, press releases) and taking an online course from the Humane Society...so maybe some day...

I've been trying to work up the nerve to quit my job for about a month now! My boss is one of Satan's helpers, I'm sure. I hate going to work...

My last job was a living hell and it got to the point of fight or flight so I quit. Now I need another job for financial reasons and they're rather hard to find. So if you can, make sure that you have a plan in place before you quit. I can understand that there are times when you just have to leave to preserve your sanity though!

Yep, though not to that degree. I'm just to the point of wanting a 2-week break. I'm finding it *so* hard to focus on anything that involves web design (like anything at work) because I'm burnt out on doing it and want a break. But I like where I work, most days like who I work with very much (today we're butting heads on a project, but it's the first time that's happened regularly in 3 years so I know it's just the stress of this particular project), like the hours and the pay. I just want a *break*. But to be able to come back again after 2 weeks.

Looks like it'll be Nov before I can do anything like that, though. *sigh*

At least the semester starts again at the end of this month and that'll be something different I can work on for a few months and I think that'll help. Be nicer if we could find a good weekend getaway we could do, though.

I have unemployment burnout! I want a job that I can live more thn paycheck to paycheck and that will I learn to love. But, gotta find one, first.

Ugh, I am right there with you! My bosses are great and the pay is good, but my job is so boring and not fufilling at all! Plus I work alone, and I really miss having company! Its taking a lot of willpower to not call in sick and take the rest of the day off!

I'm the posterchild for burnout. I was over it again the day I came back from my trip. But, I do appreciate my boss and most of my staff; it's really a pretty good gig. It's just the profession as a whole that rots.

I loathed and despised the job that I was laid off from. The only reason I hadn't quit was the pay was very good and the benefits were good. But, the people I worked with, were not the best in the world. Two of them were out almost a year each for the two years that I was there, the boss was the boss from you know where.

The job I have now is great. The pays is not great. But, my bosses are great. They actually show appreciation for what you do. If you stay late, they actually tell you thank you for staying late. I stayed over an hour and forty-five minutes today and the first sergeant told me that he owed me lunch for staying so late.

I need a vacation!
I am so burnt out. In my field the average person usually takes about 4 weeks of vacation. I started working for myself in a group practice. Thus, no paid time off - sick or vacation. I've been trying to hold off till WDW in Oct. ARgh...it's been since February...I'm not going to make it!
Glad to see I'm in good company being miserably burnt-out at the office.
