This is only the second year where I have time off (totally different career of course!). Have two plus weeks off. What about you?

I usually take Christmas week off from my job, this year I have off from the 19th-the 30th. I take Thanksgiving week, Christmas week, a week in June, a week in July, and a week in August and then spread my other 5 days out as needed for my daughters school functions or 3 day weekends...

I would have taken it off had my boss not taken it....
Guess there's always the hope of next year..:D

I always take Christmas/New Year's Off . . .my vacation starts at 11 am on 12/23 and I go back to work 1/05.

I am so looking forward to it . . .:D

I have an 11.5 month contract with the school district I work for. I get off 2 weeks at Christmas, 1 week at Spring Break, and one day shy of a month during the summer. My personal leave days are not counted in this (I get another 92 hours a year). Nice way to count 11.5 months!!

sort of, I can take time off for the holidays, but as I just started I didn't get Christmas eve or the day after Christmas, we all do get a day off the week of Christmas and the week of New Years, so I have tomorrow, Monday, off, work a full day Tuesday, work a half day Weds, have Thurs off (closed Christmas Day), and work a full day Fri. The week after (New Years) I work Mon, Weds, and Fri, and have Tues and Thurs off (closed New Years Day).

just had 9 straight days off, worked three days (we closed 3 hours early on Saturday) and today (Sunday) is the first of 12 straight days off. Then I'll work on Jan 2nd & 3rd and have 4 more days off. I love my work schedule :bounce:

I work in the school system, so I am out until January 5th - all paid. I love my job. ;)

HaHaHa!!! I wish!!!! FLMinnie you are definitely lucky!! I had last Thursday off (as you know, and I definitely used that day to the best of my abilities!!!! ;) ) Then I worked a 12 hour shift on Friday, and that was just the start of my 6 straight days working till X-Mas. I do get off Christmas, and by some miracle of scheduling I have Friday off as well!

I'm a concrete batch plant operations and maintenance supervisor, normally I can request any time off during the winter months as thats when we shut down operations because of cold climate conditions here in Alaska, occasionally we do deliver concete all winter but mostly I take the time catching up with engineering problems and maintenance. During the rest of the year I drive a concrete mixer 6 days a week 10 or more hours a day.

My time off is the whole month of january, I plan on a week of lying in the sun drinking fresh squeezed orange juice, swimming in my own pool, playing Xbox with my son and then when we are ready we are venturing out, because there has been so little changes at WDW we will start off at IOA and SW.
However if one month off is good I may buy a new home in Orlando as I'm 47 and willing to retire early.

Mr. D, make sure to save some room for the strawberries. They have just come into season and they are to die for!

I work at a school and am off until Jan 5th too. However, since I'm a 9.5 month/19.5 hrs per week worker, I get only a few of the days off with pay. DH usually takes time off this time of year, but they're rolling new software (slow time of year for them) so he's not available as much as I'd like him to be. We have plans to go away 12/29-30 and come home on the 31, but he's not sure he can get away. hmmmm... I wonder which of my friends is available to go to Tahoe with me?

Time off?? Whats that?

I get done with work about 7ish on christmas eve then I get to have ALL of christmas day off (the only day we are closed) and then work again on the 26th what fun :P

I'm off for 2 weeks, with my kids... that's just the way I worked it out with my new-ish boss. It's all unpaid tho. I'm only a part-timer anyway.

I'll be doing a bit of work here from home at night this week. Town offices closed Thurs/Fri of both this and next week, which means I get those 4 days paid...I'm part time/salary so it doesnt really matter which days I work.

DD's will be splitting their time home between the house, and DH's store. tomorrow DD6 goes with DH, so it's like an EXTRAbonus..(she's quite set in her ways...to put it nicely)...Tues DD 7 will go etc...

DH will be home by 2 on Wednesday, thurs/fri off- sat he has to work 4 hours...same deal next week, thurs/fri off, plus he doesnt work that saturday..so 3 days weekend next week.

I work in an elementary school and have off starting Wednesday till the 5th....but I only get paid for Christmas! :( I still love my job, though!

Between our Disney cruise in April and a trip to L.A. for my parents 40th anniversary, I don't have any vacation left! I get Christmas day and New Years day off but that's it. To top it off all my support staff is going to be gone Tuesday thru Friday - So I have to handle EVERYTHING!

Oh - and to add insult to injury - my DH is off all this week with some pulled back muscles...

Teacher here - my two weeks off started at 3:31 last Friday afternoon! Of course, I'll probably spend a morning at school next week, doing final grades and getting ready for next semester, but I don't mind being there when it's QUIET!

Hubby works at a large warehouse chain and he will have Christmas Eve and Christmas night off. (He's only worked there 5 months, so we don't know yet if it will be with pay or not) Since he works nights that means he'll have off from Wednesday 6am until Friday 9pm. I'm just hoping they work New Years on the same schedule.

I always take the two weeks of Christmas and New Years off!:teeth: So what am I doing on the Dis at 4:30 am on my first day of vacation?

My school job is done Tuesday at 1:20, and we don't go back till January 5th, but since I work p/t in retail as well, I don't really get any time off for the holidays!
