Anyone else have this problem with the new system?

I called on Sunday to change my 1 bedroom SV room at BLT to a 2 bedroom for next August.

My two older children may want to come and I realized that it would be better to do it now than wait. And, the difference (if I could get SV) since I was reducing the vacation from 6 nights to 5, would only be 24 points.

I called and they only had SV rooms for 4 of the 5 nights. They did have LV so I told them to change to that and then I would WL SV. Since we are still 9 1/2 months out, I am hoping that I have a good shot.

Anyway, they couldn't make the change. There is something wrong with the program that would not let them modify the reservation. The points came out for the 2 bedroom but it wouldn't allow the actually confirmation of the room. They told me it would take a few days but that they had the LV room held so I would not lose that.

The problem is that I can't go on the WL for the 2 bedroom SV until it is set.

I call today and it is still not fixed. They even had to cancel out the 1 bedroom completely but assured me that my 2 bedroom LV room is safe (have this on the answering machine) but was told it would take another 48 hours or so and that a supervisor is taking care of it.

So, has anyone else not been able to make adjustments?
 
There is still a problem with getting things to show up correctly on my account. However, today when I called to check, they were able to change the room they have on hold for me from LV to SV 2 bedroom at BLT so I am now super excited as I was anxious to get it all straightened out so I could go on the WL for SV.

CM said that they are having trouble with getting things to work right with some member's accounts and that IT has to get involved. I guess I am just one of the lucky ones.

Although she told me everything is set and confirmed, I will feel much better when I log in to my DVC member account and see it correct.
 
Wow, I'd be a bit nervous as well. I'm sure they will work it out though. We've had nothing but good results when they have had to hand do things like that.
 
Good luck with that mess! I don't blame you for being nervous. I wouldn't like this limbo period either. On a positive note, it is great that you were able to secure the SV without having to go on the waitlist. Congrats on that! :thumbsup2
 

Sorry you had the trouble, but I'm sure it's worth it because you were able to get the std view you preferred. I think perhaps the trouble helped you get it. :)

Of course, I'm not the one worrying, LOL, but it sure sounds to me like everything is going to be just fine.

It seems, at least, they have a system to hold the reservation for you. :) Honestly, it makes me wonder what problems will show up when the online system goes live. :scared1:
 
I had to call MS today, too, to figure out what happened to the points in our account. I periodically check to make sure my master spreadsheet matches the DVC records by DVC location (we own at 3 of them.) This time, I was 52 points high in my BWV account and 52 points low in my AKV account.

All I could think that it would be was that I called at the 7 month mark about our BWV reservation in October to see if I could use AKV points instead of BWV points for it. At the time, I was told that I couldn't do that because the room wasn't available for booking at BWV (a boardwalk view studio). I understood completely and forgot about that request.

After my banking window of May 31, it turns out an adjustment was made on June 8 even though I never called on June 8. The 52 points were moved from my AKV account to my BWV account. The whole reservation at BWV was 79 points so I have no idea where the number 52 came from. In any case, I'm happy with the change. I was going to lose a couple points at AKV this year which I thought were banked from 2009. Now that DVC retroactively did my request to move points from AKV to BWV without tellint me, I won't be losing any points at all. And my future plans through 2014 work much better with the points the way DVC has them allocated.

In my case, I'm happy with the goofy point reallocation. But you may want to check your points to make sure DVC hasn't reallocted between contracts for you by mistake.

Weird things like this make me a little worried about the new online system, too. I normally like booking all of my vacation plans myself doing it online. But DVC is different. Too many things can go wrong!

Thanks! Yes, the CM today was wonderful and found a lock off 2 bedroom for the entire time. It sounded like the original CM only looked for dedicated.

But, at least she said it is all set and confirmed and I have what I want so no longer going to stress.

She assured me it should be fixed in a relatively short time. Of course, I had originally been planning to maybe try adding the DDP for just a night or two of the reservation, but given all these problems, once it is showing correctly, I don't think I will mess with it!
 
I called on 10/20, the last date they had scheduled for system upgrades .. I was canceling a few days one of our December BWV reservation because a family member had to shorten the length of their vacation .. anyway .. the transaction went through but the 48 points that should have been returned to by BWV account are still missing. Also, on line, the reservation still reflects the original dates ..but the total points is correct for the adjusted dates.

MS opened up a ticket on 10/20 .. I've followed up a couple of times and continue to hear the same story .. they are working on it ...they said a lot of accounts get messed up due to the recent upgrades .. they have everything documented and I've been assured there will be no risk to me. They assured me my nieces reservation reflects the correct dates on their screen and everything is OK.

I didn't need the 48 points so it's not a problem that they are working on getting them back into our account...but I have no idea what would have happened if we needed to immediately use those 48 points.

When I called to reserve a SV studio at BLT for next Sept. they could find the room but couldn't book it. I was put on hold while they had a manager hold the room for me. They are supposed to call me back with the reservation number once everything is straightened out. So there must be some problem with BLT accounts/rooms at the moment.
 
I had a studio at BW booked for 11/22 and WL SSR since that's where the first 3 nights of the reservation are. Well last week I logged in to see if the WL had come through and POOF my reservation for the 1 night at BW was gone!!! I figured the WL had come through and it wasn't updated yet. So I checked again the next day and it was still MIA and I didn't have that add'l night at SSR yet. I called MS and they said it was an IT problem and I did indeed have that night at SSR on hold. I told them the reservation was in 3 weeks and needed it fixed. It's now 1 week later and the system still has not updated/been fixed. I call everyday and they assure me the 4th night is there. That's fine and dandy but technically I am nowhere for that 4th night. It's very unsettling since this reservation isn't for me although I hope DVC would still get me a room at SSR if something happens to the one on hold. MS said I am not the only one having trouble with this. Very frustrating! :headache:
