Hi

As more and more states are requiring hands free cell phone usage while in a car I have been trying and trying to find an earbud that fits my ear. My ears are very small (wish the rest of my body was:rotfl::rotfl:) and 99% of the headsets or bluetooths fall right off. I wear glasses so the over the ear hook never fits right......getting so frustrated:headache::headache:

The only headphones with earbuds I can use for my Ipod is a soft earbud that sell at Walmart and made by JVC.

I really need a hands free headset or bluetooth with a soft moldable earpiece.......

Any ideas -------- I am a wit's end.......my DH bought me this device that clips to my sun visor for hands free use but everyone tells me I sound like I am living in a tunnel:goodvibes

Anyone else??????

Thanks and Have a Magical Disney Day!!

Here is a solution but you may not like it - don't use your cell phone when you drive. Turn it off when you get in the car, turn it on when you get out.

My mother has one that clips on the visor and it works great. More often than not she is more clear than my DH who uses a bluetooth. I don't know what brand it is but let me ask her and get back to you.

I'd be in the same boat if I drove so I feel for you.

I also can't wear earbuds. I have an over ear bluetooth headset but I do not use it while driving. I never speak on the phone while driving because I find it is not really safer to use a hands free device than it is to just hold the phone up.

I don't "chat" on my cell phone, while driving or not...I hate phones in general. But I do keep myself available for important calls, especially from my kids (all drivers now).

I've got the thing that clips on my visor. I've had it for a while and couldn't tell you the brand or anything...and it's too darn cold to go out and look! I'm not so sure it's OK, legally, to use any kind of headphones/earbuds while driving, is it?

I too have this problem! I had my ear buds specially made by an audiologist. I think they cost around $65. Kind of price-y, but well worth it. I use them for my Ipod also. :goodvibes

I know in some states it is illegal to have headphones on... I would think it would be the same with earbuds. The reason is that these items are made in order to not only allow you to hear the item it is used on, but to also keep out other sounds. VERY VERY VERY dangerous while driving.

(Grew up in a family of cops...)

Thanks for the suggestion - And yes there are people who should not be "chatting" while driving as they shouldn't be eating, putting on makeup or today I saw someone reading their Kindle while driving:confused3

I don't "chat" on my phone while driving but will always keep it on. The one time I turned it off my DD got into a car accident 5 blocks from the restaurant I was sitting at (with my cell phone turned off) and no one could get a hold of me........Turning it off is not an option.....

I do have the visor clip on - just want to know if anyone ever found small moldable ear buds for a blue tooth or any other hands free headset.

Thanks.......Have a Magical Disney Day!!

I think it's fairly obvious the OP is looking for safe and legal suggestions so she can be available for important calls. Lectures about what not to do is not what the OP is after.

I have a bluetooth ear piece, but I really don't like how it sits on my ear and it's just one more thing I have to remember to charge. My mom uses hers all the time, but even with the volume on my phone cranked up, it's harder to hear her.

Instead, I turn the speakerphone on and wedge my phone into the steering wheel. I have a Motorola SLVR (candy bar style phone) in a Body Glove case so it fits perfectly. If you can't do likewise, maybe you could look into some kind of holder that could be mounted somewhere near the steering column.

I wear hearing aids so I can't find any kind of device that works on my ears either. I was thinking I'd just try the garmin bluetooth thing from the gps. We bought it last night but I haven't tried hooking my phone to it yet (or whatever it is we need to do). I was explaining to the best buy guy and he misunderstood and kept insisting I should be able to hear the garmin tell me the street to turn on if I just kept the volume up high. I didn't have the heart to explain I was referring to the wireless thing for my phone. He was young and trying so hard.

Replace the head unit in your car with a Bluetooth enabled receiver. You can listen to music, but the music is automatically muted when you receive a call. The audio comes from the already installed speakers. You operate the system via remote control, so you don't have the run the risk of taking your eyes off the road for an extended period of time. I believe you could set it up to automatically answers the calls too.

I got one of these for my son for Christmas and I glanced over the manual after he opened it. He's not tried it yet to see how it will work because he has to pick up an adapter (USB cable I think, he doesn't have one to fit his cell phone) and hasn't gotten around to it yet.

I thought with him traveling back and forth to school next year, this will make that 8 hour drive (1 way) a little more bearable, and I hope it helps keep him safe.

If "safe" is what the OP is looking for, that is exactly what the lectures are giving.

I hear you, well not very well :lmao:. I wear hearing aids too and have had a heck of a time trying to find a bluetooth. The next hearing aids I will be getting are bluetooth capable though so that is something to look forward to :thumbsup2.

Can you explain this more? What are you talking about-head unit?? Is this a radio? Do you have a link or something I could get more information from? Thanks.
