Anyone else have/had swine flu? ((cough, cough))

I am at home and miserable with H1N1. DS8 got sent home from school on Wednesday, and we took him to the ped. His 'quick test' came back neg. for swine flu, but we were also told it tests for seasonal flu and isn't that accurate for swine flu (and pretty much, if you have the flu right now, it is H1N1).

So...on sunday, I start getting sick. 103 temp, chills, fever, body aches, stopped up ears, etc. Today is day 3, and I still have a 100 degree temp. I called my dr, who said it was too late for Tamiflu (b/c I didn't go immediately). But she says it definately sounds like swine flu, even though we were told it wasn't at the ped's office.

DH started getting sick last night. So far, he is faring the best of the 3 of us so far. His temps have been staying below 100, and he already seems to feel better than I did my second day.

I'd say that DS2 doesn't have a prayer of not getting it, since all the rest of us do. He is very small, underweight, and has developmental delays. I really worry about him

I know this is a long and rambling post...but have any of you had H1N1, and how long did it take to totally get 'back to normal'. DS8 still has a little cough, and the ped said he could have it a couple of weeks, but isn't contagious now.

Awww, feel better! Yesterday we had a medical orientation with the school nurse so she could fill in all the teachers about swine flu and regular flu stuff. She said that all you can do is to make sure you're hydrated and you rest. I know that's probably difficult since you're a mother, but please rest!

We also are having a bout of the flu here, cough, fever, congestion etc. Started with my grandson who is 3...who actually was the least sick. He was fine/better after day 3. Though he also tested neg for the swine virus, I really think that is what it is. My dd17 is having the worst time of all...she is on Day 4, fever has broken but she is still miserable with the rest of the symptoms. She has an appointment tomorrow because I am worried about bronchitis. I am really stumped because of all my children, she is the probably the healthiest in terms of being very athletic, eats right etc. But this has to be the sickest she has been in at least 8 years.

We haven't had it yet, but a coworker did. Her husband never got it, even though he is usually the most susceptible and ended up caring for her and their 3 chioldren.

I think my daughter and I had it 3 weeks ago (she also tested negative, but the doctor said the rapid test has a 40-50% false negative rate). She was fine after 4 days. I feel better, but I am still having problems with my lungs. I have asthma, so it may take me a while to completely recover.

Got it, the first sign of fever we will be in the Dr's asking for Tamiflu.

My DD was a preemie and my kids both have asthma so I can empathize. Maybe a kiddie vitamin and Gatorade might help his body prepare ahead of the storm. They even make pedialyte ice pops to keep the electrolytes balanced. I saw them in Target near the baby stuff not too long ago

My dd had it back in June and she was pretty bad for a week. Her fever lasted almost 7 days, and even reached 104 for a bunch of them. She had aches and pains and congestion for the whole time too. She has never been as sick as she was then, and amazingly not one of the rest of us caught it. Of course I'm pretty sure I'm battling it now because I have all the symptoms and I'm hoping my other 2 kids are as lucky as they were last time it was in our house.
