Anyone else have difficulty making final partial payment on last day?

We have to rooms booked for April 2020. I have been trying to reach our travel person from Small World Vacation all afternoon & evening to make the final payment as it is due today. She knew I was going to take care of it today, as I had made another payment yesterday, leaving just over $1K left. We booked 2 adjoining rooms and I don't want to loose that or potentially the 2nd room for the whole trip. I've called main number, a supposed "emergency" number, and sent a number of emails. Currently on hold with DCL to see if they can skate it thru...... Wish me luck!
 
Wow! Is there no one else at the company that you can phone? Surely someone can get that payment made for you. Good luck with DCL. I hope it works out.

Thx..... I was on hold with DCL, then got disconnected. I can't win......
 

How did it go? Did you get through?

Good news! The cast member was able to get a 12 hr extension and got a hold of TA. It was settled this morning, so trip is paid off and all set! I sent a really nice email to DCL know how hard the cast member worked the situation. I do wish there was a way to override having to pay thru the TA in an emergency though, but that's an issue for higher up the food chain.
 
So glad to hear it worked out for you. What a headache that must have been, though. You deserve a relaxing vacation. :)
 
You can always just book directly with the cruise line. To me, hearing stories like this makes it not worth the hassle to go with a travel agent. I like to be in control of my own reservation. Glad it got worked out and sorry about the added stress.

Thanks, it was a headache and an awful lot of legwork for me to do. But this will be our first ever family trip during April vacation, so it should be nice to relax & have fun. So its water under the bridge!

True, but we have received additional shipboard credit by using them in the past I think, so there was that value. But I will have to re-evaluate after this. We are just looking forward to our trip now!

I sent in an email to the manager and luckily they were able to process my payment just in time. From then on, I always pay in full a week before PIF date to have that peace of mind. I am glad everything worked out for you. Have a magical cruise!

Can I ask if the agent was "on top" of your reservation and reminded you ahead of time that the PIF date was approaching? I would think that is part of their job isn't it?
