Anyone else hate wearing sneakers?

Around the house I wear slippers or go barefoot, but I wear sneakers 95% of the time I am not at home. They are the most comfortable shoes I have. I go through several pairs a year. I have wide feet and a lot of sandals, etc don't come in wide, so they don't quite fit right.

I don't like sneakers. If I am power walking fine, but they are not the most comfortable shoes and not the most attractive.

I dated a man that would not date women who wore sneakers outside of exercising. He thought they were tacky and not feminine. He also never wore sneakers and disliked it when he saw men wearing them outside of exercising.

I prefer a polished/pedicured foot and a comfortable and tasteful shoe or sandal. In the winter, I love heeled boots. I think they are sexy and practical.

In the summer, I only wear sandals. I love Cole Haan brand for work - very classy and very tasteful. I have Timberlands and Nike for play. Merrells I like to use in the garden or when I'm active. I have not been able to warm up to Crocs.

There are so many good shoes and sandals on the market that really make people look good, I don't know why people put on socks and then sneakers in 95 degree weather and then comment on how hot it is? It's always blown my mind.

I love shoes and read lots of shoe threads on these boards. I can't believe how many people love their sneakers and talk about how comfortable and supportive they are. I find them so uncomfortable, restrictive and unsupportive. I can't stand to wear them for more than a few hours whether I'm at WDW or home. They are so hot and heavy. Anyone else feel this way? All I wear are Rainbows, Crocs, Birks, Keens and Uggs.

I'm with you!! When I go to WDW and am on my feet all day sneakers (even really good sneakers) kill my feet. I usually wear flat flip flops and my ankles and feet never bother me. My feet like to breathe and are happier in the air!!

I hear you & agree with you...I hate sneakers. They hurt my feet while I am in the gym. I prefer flip-flops or sandals any day (Even in the winter).

My boyfriend has told me that for our Disney trip, I need good shoes... not too sure what to do cause my expensive running shoes hurt my feet. I will get tired feet in flip flops. I just don't know what to do. I'm seeing stuff about Crocks, but have never heard of them before getting on the boards. Doing some research...

2 Mo, 2 days till Disneyworld!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:bounce:

Only like them to work out in, but nothing else. I tried them at WDW (at my DH's suggestion) and they just KILLED MY VERY IMPORTANT PINKIE TOES!! I used to wear Keds all the time....years ago....and they just don't fit at all any more.

I wear flip flops all spring/summer/fall. As my DS3 says to me when we go to leave the house "Mom, don't forget to put your fwip fwops on!" :)

Slippas=the best. I think you guys call them Flip flops?

Shoes [sneakers]. I love em. I get comfy ones though like DVS, Vans, Converse and all those.

I almost exclusively wear sneakers everywhere. NYC is a walking town. I search for lightweight running shoes that have good lateral (side) support so my feet don't roll back & forth. I'm careful to not have more weight on my feet than necessary.

I see women clicking around in their high heels carrying lots of bags in NYC & they can't get around! Heels are so impractical and flip flops give no protection. I even have an all black pair of sneakers which everyone mistakes for shoes. I wear them when my outfit needs black shoes. :cheer2:

The second I get home, allof footwear comes off. I prefer to be barefoot at home.

I find athletic shoes to be very uncomfortable--way too confining and tight. I've tried on dozens and dozens of pairs, including very expensive ones, and they just don't feel right. My dogs gotta breathe! I wear them for power walking and working out, that's all.

I recently bought a pair of New Balance backless athletic shoes for work (I work in a hospital and shoes have to have closed toes). The New Balance backless shoes are OK. I'm planning to try Crocs soon (just started this job where I wear scrubs--in my last job I wore street clothes and backless Clarks slides).

I have worn my Clarks slides around WDW and they were pretty comfie but could use more padding. I usually wear sneakers at WDW because they have more padding than most shoes, but would love to find really comfortable, padded backless slides or sandals to wear.
