Anyone else hate acronyms

I don't visit this site daily and it seems I see a new one everytime I login. I work for the government and we have acronyms galore. Don't mind the easy ones like ToT, POTC, LTT etc...but geez...

For the life of me, I cannot figure out what OKW means.

Old Key West a DVC resort.

We use them at work for everything and this guy we didn't really enjoy was on a conference call with the higher ups.So we slip him a note for a good new name for his position.They must have written it down and asked him to repeat it.Then asked if he really was one and wanted to be called that.

Huh? (actually I finally did figure it out!)

Still the funniest acronym was a poster discussing something and she used the usual DH, DS(age), etc... but being pregnant at the time she also created a new acronym "DFetus" -- oh I howled.

ITA! (I totally agree.) Acronyms are a PIA, KWIM?(Know what I mean?) OTOH,(On the other hand) once you get a feel for it, you'll find they're very handy.

Who want to type out "It's Tough to be a Bug" or "Honey, I Shrunk the Audience" every time? ITTBAB and HISTA are so much faster.

I had the following exchange today at work via instant message with a co-worker. My boss is in disney world right now.

Coworker: Is your boss in today?
Me: No.
Me: WDW
Coworker: Because I want to complain about you.
Me: WDW isn't "what do you want" - it stands for Walt Disney World. My boss is in Walt Disney World right now.
Coworker: Oh. Sorry.
