Anyone else had Melanoma?

Hi! I am a 37 female that had a melanoma in situ (stage 0) removed 6 years ago. I am curious as to if any of you have dealt with this cancer. I was fortunate to catch it early and am glad that so far there has been no reoccurrance. I get really anxious this time of year not knowing how to handle sun exposure. I have 3 kids and I just got back from the beach. I always wear sunblock, hat and glasses, rent an umbrella, and try not to stay out more than an hour or 2. I do not lay out etc. but if my kids are in the ocean or pool, I am too. I do not want to never be in the sun, but I worry when I am. I have tons of moles and have them checked yearly. I am curious how the rest of you handle sun exposure and if any had one many years ago and did not reoccure. I am just paranoid it will.

I am 44 and had a melanoma removed 14 years ago. I have had four additional moles removed since then and all were fine. I know the first couple of years, I worried ALOT! Now, not so much, I make sure I wear sunscreen and all but try not to worry about it too much. I do think about it daily, as I have a HUGE scar down my shin, but I do all I can to protect myself. Make sure you have your yearly skin checks. Its an easy cancer to treat if it is caught early.
