MOM JEANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :rotfl2:

I did --- a trip to THE GAP and 1 hr and 14 pairs of jeans later--- I found a pair of low rise (NOT ULTRA LOW) boot legs in a size larger than i planned ---

I feel like i finally made it into this century---
gone are the gloria vanderbuilts, sasoon jeans that were hanging in my closets

no more jeans that button at my waist or have elastics bands---

after watching the eposide of saturday night live with the "mom" jeans and just had to update my look a little

On the tv show, MADTV, there is a character named Lorraine. She wears her pants up really high on her waist and she is a hoot. Anyway, my kids are always saying that's how I wear my pants!!

I guess all my pants would be considered "Mom" pants. I can't seem to find any other kind that fit! I usually don't tuck in tops unless I'm wearing something over them so nobody would know I wear my pants at my waist.

Awhile back, DD15 wanted to go to the mall, so I told her I had to go get ready first. I put on a pair of jeans and hiked them up even more than usual. I tucked in a jersey and told DD I was all set to go. The look on her face was priceless! "OMG, Mom! You are NOT going like that I hope!" :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

A couple of years ago my DS18 asked why I wear my jeans so high. I told him that I would love to wear low riders, but I love embarrassing him more!

I got a new pair of jeans last year... love them, I am on the search for a couple of new pairs.

We are so hip now.... :rotfl:

Good for you!!!! Yes, I love my low riders -- not ultra low (after four babies), they'll have a very flattering look and make your butt look smaller.

I saw a show on Oprah and she did the before's and after's and the difference between the mom's jeans and the today's jeans were too noticeably improved.

Good for you! Enjoy your new hip look!!!! Remember ladies, no pleats, no elastic and no tapered legs. :cool1:

My DD informed me that I dressed like an old lady. That my jeans were all wrong and tapered leg jeans were a major no no. She finally convinced me to buy boot leg jeans. The only problem with low rise for me, is that my waist is smaller then my hips, so the waist is always to big.

I actually read somewhere that the tapered leg was coming back in. :confused3 (not like the 80s tapered, but the kind that is tight around your ankles and you wear heels with)

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: I will buy you many pairs!!

I just did the same thing!! I bought several pairs of boot cut low rise jeans. Never thought I'd see the day I was wearing "bellbottoms" again. But, man, they are comfy!

LMAO, I saw that last night on Sat Night Live.. they were horrid! I've never personally worn mom jeans, i'm a smaller plus size but fit in Old Navy jeans perfectly and loveeeeeeeee them, they are all I wear. Most of my clothes are from Old Navy. I went through a phase though when I was 60lbs heavier where all i'd wear were big striped shirts. I've sworn to myself that even if it's cute i'll never buy another striped shirt again!

Oh, I love my low riders (not ultra). They fit SO much better, look better on me, and are comfy too. Can't STAND to have jeans cover my stomach!

Good for you!

Well sorry, but no thanks. Three kids and a bazillion stretch marks later there is NO CHANCE I'm wearing low anything. I think it's very unattractive to see girls, teens or women wearing low pants with tight shirts that show a bulging tummy. That won't be me. I don't tuck in my shirts so noone can see my pants but I think pants belong around my waist. I've never been that into style anyway.

I just about die everytime I see that skit on SNL. Its me and all of my friends. We look just like the "moms" in the commercial. I figure after 3 kids and the fact that I'm closer to 50 than 40, I've earned the right to wear my mom jeans proudly!!!

You don't see my tummy. I think that would require tight ultra low riders and ultra short shirts! :p I don't have a muffin top with mine. ;) Give em a whirl sometime, you may be surprised! I am a size smaller in the waist than hips and these work great.

I just threw out my last two pairs of "mom" jeans. :p I've seen that SNL skit on the Style Network on a show of top 25 fashion "don'ts". I watch "What Not to Wear" on TLC alot and knew that the tapered legs had to go. The boot cut leg is much more flattering.

I'm so short waisted, that a mid-rise comes almost to my natural waist! My tummy is my biggest trouble area and I never, ever ever ever EVER, tuck anything in. I'm built like a smilie :cool1: I think the girls with the muffin tops are squeezing into a size to small. Their tops might be too small too. If you watch your fit, you can wear mid-rise and not have muffin tops.

Oh dear! I just looked down and realized that I threw on an old pair of knit pants, tapered, with an elastic waist! :scared: I guess I've still got some work to do. Hey, I wasn't going to leave the house in them!!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl: lmao.......I saw that last night too!!! ok, im not that bad but maybe i should update a tad, at least i stopped wearing all levi's with the tapered leg.....I have lost weight and gained some back and now working on the losing again....I did up date some great dress pants this fall and some tops........usually I am wearing a disney t-shirt or sweatshirt all the time and am trying to really dress my age!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Yes, yes, yes! I feel so cool in my dark wash boot cut jeans--with my killer boots--too cute. And their actually comfortable! Who knew! :cool1:
