Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone else is in the same boat as us. We are planning to make an offer to Timeshare Store and looking at OWL since we want to save some $$.
I would love to hear from anyone else to see if you are also in the same position as us and looking as well.
Any feedback on this would be great!
Thanks for replying!

The Only advice I can give you, if you see a contract that catches your eye, Phone them ASAP!

It's amazing how quickly something can go!

PS there 1800 # works from Canada!

If you are looking for something specific, ie: use year, # of points, loaded vs. stripped, etc., I would call them and tell them what you are looking for. We did this and got a call about a BCV contract before it even hit the listing. We snagged it and it never had a chance to get posted to the listing page.

Ditto the last couple posts. We were looking for something relatively specific. We let them know and got a phone call a couple days later with almost exactly what we were looking for. It was NOT listed, yet.

If you find what you're looking for, and it's a fair price, I'd recommend NOT making an offer. Just get it. For the couple hundred bucks you MIGHT save up front by negotiating (and potentially losing the "perfect" resale), it's not that much. Plus you further run the risk of not passing ROFR. The REAL cost of ownership is the annual dues. So, IMHO, I wouldn't squabble over a couple dollars up front if you find the contract you really want.

Torontogal...

Here IS the current resale thread!!

Check it out: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=720134

IMHO...not a pretty picture.. BWV just ROFR'ed @ $80. yesterday...809 posts & 27,000 + views.

Going thru Disney IS ...no stress or hassle and immediate gratification plus all fees considered...not that much more $$$ !!

Best of Luck in whatever you decide !!

My advice is to call and tell them your needs. They really understand the DVC system and can help you find a contract. Many contracts go as soon as they come into inventory (possibly never even making it to the listings -- so calling them and letting them know what you are interested in will assist your search.

Pat Spell is our agent. Two purchases and one being sold. We will use her services again.

I have removed this post because some could consider it off-topic. Good luck.

Although I'm not the original poster, we're in the same position-want to buy at OKW, watching postings from TTS. Think it's time for that phone call-Thanks for the suggestion!

We actually did both. We went on the waiting list at Disney for a BCV contract last month. After reading about how long the wait time could be, and thinking about it for over a month, we decided to make an offer on a BCV contract at TSS, and then switch from the BCV waitlist to the BWV waitlist at Disney, which our guide told us would be filled much faster (we really like the Epcot area resorts). Two days after making our offer at TSS, and after calling our guide to switch waitlists, we had the $500 deposit charged to our credit-card. We assumed it was for BWV, but then our guide called and told us it was a BCV contract. So now we have the BCV contract through Disney, and we are waiting on our BCV contract to go through at TSS. Both contracts are for 150 pts, and we will save approx. $1200 going through resale. Good Luck with what you do !!!! :mickeybar

Absolutely true. I missed a nice VWL contract by minutes! (called to ask DW's permission!)
