I'm taking DW, DS and DD to Disneyland this weekend. For those that have gone during Labor Day weekend.....are the crowds really bad?

I'm hoping that it's not horrendous since we will be going to the Parks for only 2 days this time ( as compared to the usual 3 days ).

We're going Sun-Tues and driving home Wed. I'm planning on crazy-busy Sun/Mon and quiet Tues. Which days are you going?

I went in 2005 during the 50th Celebration. We only went on Sunday and Monday and we were surprised to find the parks relatively uncrowded and wait times short.

Keep in mind that this is the Disneyland Half-Marathon weekend and there will be several activities related to that on Saturday and Sunday - including a lot of road closures on Sunday morning. Race should be over (for the most part) by 9:30am, but traffic will be a mess on the Harbor and Disney Way side until after that. The runners go all the way to Angel's Stadium and back, with the race ending with a last run through the entry plaza and DTD.

We'll be there, cheering our runner and all the DIS runners on!

We've gone the last couple years starting with the 50th celebration as well, and like DangerMouse stated it was not crowded at all. We go from the Sunday before Laborday and Leave the following Saturday. Expect light crowds Sunday and Monday and then the rest of the week you can walk on every ride with no wait time, and then Friday evening will build back up to a busier atmosphere. As far as parking impact (from 1/2 marathon) I have no idea, we stay on DLR property and miss it all. Saturday I would think it to be a bit more crowded. We sort of made this our annual trip to the Mouse House b/c of the experiance we had during the 50th. We're able to keep the munchkin out of the first days of school (2nd grade). We stayed at DLH all times. This years is PP, since we havn't stayed. 4 days and counting!!! Cheer's, Mike

We're going Saturday August 30th through Monday September 1st, coming home the day after that. We've done Labour Day weekend last in 2004 and it wasn't that bad for crowds.

I am hoping the crowds aren't all that bad as I will be in a cast and crutches through the airports - and an ECV in DL - due to a recent accident.

Be sure to look for us DIS WISH runners/walkers in the bright green lime shirts. You can't miss us. Ha!

We're leaving tomorrow morning :scared1: and will be at DLR/GCH through to Thu 4 Sep when we are flying out from SNA for Orlando and WDW.

I am hoping the crowds are not too bad and at least Tue/Wed should be fairly quiet based on what I've read.

Have a great trip everyone.

Cheers
Angela

Thanks Angela!

Jeff and I were on another thread together, so I plan on popping by the meet at Jamba Juice on Saturday night at 7pm. I am really excited to meet some fellow DISers for the first time!

Maybe some off the other DISers could pop by and say hello, too!

Last year we arrived on Sunday and were in the park all the next week. We didn't think the crowds were as bad as we had expected they might be. Have a great trip!

We are here now and have been here since last Sunday. The crowds have been very light. The only time it really feels crowded is every evening around 7:00 p.m. I'm not sure if locals are coming in for the fireworks every night...but other than that wait times are pretty short 5 - 20 minutes for most rides. Even Nemo and Toy Story are only about 30 minutes.

We'll be in Disneyland tomorrow (I LOVE the sound of that!!!) and just cant wait to see Fantasmic, the EP and the Aladdin Musical!

We are going Monday for my birthday:banana: I will have a LGMH on my pink backpack. See you there!!:wizard:

How ironic...same days. We will be driving tomorrow.

Thanks for all your responses.....I'm hoping that it won't be that bad.....but we will probably look more to relax since this is the first time we will be staying at the DLH.
