I came back from Disneyland about two weeks ago, and I still miss it so much. That's the worst part about going on fun trips, I get so heartbroken when I'm back home because I wish I was still there. I talked to the people I went with and they aren't the same, saying one trip a year is enough. I completely disagree.
Anybody else experience the same, and if so, how do you cope with it?

I still frequently look at the Disneyland wait-times app, thinking about what I'd be doing if I was there at that moment. If anything, that makes me more sad though. :sad2:

That's why I start planning my next trip before I go on the current one. That way I have to something to look forward to when I get back. :goodvibes

Definate yes. But thats why we have this place! :thumbsup2 Whenever I'm feeling melancoly about Disney I just come here and talk about it and it makes me feel better.

It's been nearly 4 months since my trip, and yes, I still have the post-Disney gloom.

We're currently in Southern CA visiting my sisters and were only able to go to DL one day this time (Sunday). I'm sure it's because we are still on vacation but so far I haven't gotten the blues. Once we get home I'm sure I'll start missing the magic that happens at DL.

The post-Dland-vacation-gloom settles on me as we are leaving the parks. I get that same sad feeling I had as a little kid when our day trip to Dland was over (my family never went multiple days back then.) So now as a grown up I've tried all kinds of things to take the sting out of bidding farewell. I used to do one of my favorite things one last time before heading to the car, but that made me even sadder. So the thing that works for me is to actually save something I really dislike as my last attraction. Innoventions fits the bill. That whole thing just irritates the heck out of me. After 10 minutes in there I am cranky and ready to go. Then when I get home I start to think about our trip for next year and visit the disboards to hang with the people who love Dland.

Returned home last night and I have it now. Happily thinking of our Christmas trip, but that only softens the blow, it doesn't delete it. This trip taught me some things. Most importantly, I will never go to DLR without my littles again. It just isn't for me. I enjoyed my oldest daughter, and her friends, but I missed my younger children every moment. Could not stop thinking of them. They, BTW, were great about it. My son's only request was that we get him a new light up sword, because he broke on the drive home in December 2011. My daughter wanted want of the small hats they have now. Both wished we fulfilled. I can't to see their faces when they come tonight and see everything (I may have purchased a few other things, just one or two) for them as well. Had a blast stopping in Stockton to give my beastie (one of two) her new Mickey bracelet, which she loved, and also delivering a couple Mickey Mouse suckers to her neighbor children. If you want to see a kid smile, tell them you've seen Mickey Mouse and he said they needed a sucker. Ear to ear grins! That's the good stuff, right there.

Anyhow, I'm home now. Today I'll separate and wrap gifts, but that won't make me forget that I have left my holy place. I miss Mickey already!

the drive home is the worst part..........then I seem to always be planning another trip....and I love  planning.
Going back in Aug. and then again in Oct......that one will hit harder because it ends our DLR year and we won't be back until 2015 (off to a few trips to WDW......so not really that bad ;) )

I definitly get post trip gloom! I try to deal with it by bringing treats from the park home and listening to music from the parks, scrap booking etc it really helps :thumbsup2

Oh boy, we sure used to!!

We finally figured out, that the only way to combat this, is to start planning the next trip on the way home!

It has worked like a charm;)!!!

I just wrapped up my trip report, and I'm in full gloom thinking about how awesome the trip was, and how much my life has sucked since the trip.

Yes, the post - Disney gloom really sucks. We went to Disneyland for a day on June 10th and had a blast. I just love the feeling of when you first enter the park that you are escaping your normal life.

Yes!!!!
we went last month and before our final day we already started planning for our next.
That is why i've been cruising the boards so much.. lol trying to plan our BIG 2015 trip
:hourglass

Always! But it helps to come here, read the posts and look at the pictures thread.

I agree with all of this and it happens to me too. But I think it boils down to this being like the old saying that if it was Christmas every day, Christmas wouldn't be special. I find that it helps if I have something fun scheduled soon after my trip----a show, a brief one day getaway to somewhere, or even just a nice dinner reservation somewhere. Of course, this is assuming that I have two pennies to run together once I get back from Disney. LOL

Oh, big time! I think I cried for a couple of days after we got back. I had to work the day after I returned and on my way, I burst into tears! I think it's important to take a couple of days after, just to unwind.

I agree. I always schedule an extra "vacation day" or two when I get back. If I had to work the day after I got back I would not be a happy camper.
