I know I shouldn't...but sometimes I do anyway. Bad, bad me. :p

Ebay is abanned site for us and dis is open so i go on and read( mostly waiting for codes) but not much. nothing would be said as long as my work is caught up. I don't do it much because this is down time for me and I can't be on down time at work. We have a girl that staysonline and it drives me crazy she sould be working more surfing less.

I get caught by co-workers and they make fun of me nightly. They think I am a disney nut.

I am not supposed to either...but no one has said anything...I work in a sleep lab night shift and unless my one other coworker objects then I go ahead and do it. I know they have 'eyes' on here watching everything, but so far no one has said a word about it. I guess they would rather let me do this then sit here and bore them about my up coming trip...lol! Not only that, there are so many other things others are doing that can be used as black mail...hee hee!
Just kidding! :p

In today's world of skeleton crews and the business attitude of "there is alway something for you to do if you are bored", I find it amazing that there are still fields out there which give a person so much free time that they have the luxury of sitting for hours surfing the internet and still get their work done. Obviously, I have never had a job chained to a desk with a computer, but I have worked in a place where we had an available computer with internet, but even after everyone's "official" work was done, there were other things that could be done to fill another 40 hour work week (due to skeleton crew), so the only person with that free time on their hands was the boss. It was a family run business and he wanted internet when they finally got computers.

I am genuinely curious. What kind of job would one have that required use of the internet on a full-time basis, yet still allow them all this free time to use the internet for personal entertainment? I'm clueless.

I am at a desk in front of the computer all day and it takes great restraint not to get on the DIS boards.

I'm at the computer all day long at work and I do have time to surf on some days. Depends how the day is going. I provide technical support so on a quiet day if my paperwork is done and I'm not getting a lot of calls, I have time. On the other hand if we're having issues on the network everyone and his brother is calling in and it's a zoo and I don't even think about the internet (other than getting my callers on to it!)

I'm in sort of the same kind of job. Only I'm a customer service rep for an insurance company. I'm literally attached to my desk (the telephone actually) and in front of the computer all day. Some days I take a hundred or more calls and have no time for the internet, but other days I may take only thirty or so and have lots of time to surf or read. Usually, there's no extra or busy work assigned. I actually prefer heavier call days because they go by so much faster....

Amen to that. Yesterday crawled by. I felt as though I had read the entire disboard and was ready to just take a nap.

Ive been on everyday since I booked my trip in March. We leave today so when I get back I'll have to cool it, lol!!!

I leave the DisBoards on when at work and read when I can. Read in between working as I am in front of a computer 10hours a day. Breaks up my day which I like but yes I admit sometimes I read to much. :guilty:

hey...I work in a sleep lab...so would you rather me stay awake surfing the internet while I am monitoring your study or fall alseep and just let your study 'fall thru the cracks'...well I would be fired if that happened. Surfing the net does keep us more alert to what is going on around here. I don't 'surf' really...I just DIS! We run our sleep studies on Dell computers and all of them have internet access...YIPPIE! And untill I am told not to, I am DISing all I can in the next 18 days till my trip! :cool1:

I have the internet up all day. Work isn't very busy at this time. So I am on the Dis and some other message boards that I frequent, a couple of times a day.

I look it this way, when I see the smokers go "out" to smoke which is quite often, I go the boards to get my fix too.

I check it every so often throughout my morning at work. My co workers have seen me and they call me the "disney princess". Good thing I have a great boss!!! :goodvibes

I only DIS at work!!!! I never have time at home! I have 2 teenagers that monopolize the computer!!!
