Anyone else get "all choked up" at WDW?

Without fail, I get choked up as I enter the park and see the castle at the end of Main Street

I also cry whenever I see one of the characters pay extra attention to an excited child, especially a special needs child.

I cry at Fantasmic when the boat goes by with all the characters.

I fill up when I see Snow White :confused3

But the strangest thing is....I cry like a baby when I hear the theme to the Electric Light Parade. I think this makes me cry because of the memories it conjures up (past wonderful Disney trips).

We have a Disney Cruise planned, and I've heard files of the ship's horn playing "When you wish upon a star". Yup, makes me cry ::MinnieMo I'm sure I'll be crying when I hear it in person.

It's to the point where I have to buy CoverGirl Marathon Mascara before each trip to ensure I won't walk around with raccoon eyes. You just about need an electric sander to take that stuff off!

Now, I can't be the only one who becomes an emotional mess at Disney

What, if anything, makes you emotional during your visit??

The good morning show at the Magic Kingdom gets to me. Wishes gets to me at times.

Mickey waving goodbye at the end of the night at the Magic Kingdom always gets to me.

The only time I really had the tears rolling was the opening of MK when the characters arrive on the train and a family officially opens the park. I was with DH on a trip without the kids and had never experienced it before. He looked and me and said "Are you crying?" He laughed. I can't wait to take the kids (DS-5 and DD-4) to experience this!! We are going in April.

1) Wishes: every time I see it, I weep and think about 'wishing' and hoping my family enjoys the trip...and they always do...and wishing that we can come back again soon.

2) Seeing my teenage daughter become a little girl again around the characters, and in the toy shop trying on princess crowns. With none of her friends around to see her be 'uncool', she lets her inner child come out.

3) Lounging poolside with DH, book in one hand, fruity bar drink in the other, watching my kids enjoy the water and thinking we're the luckiest people alive to be where we are.

4) The feeling of 'letting go' of the daily routine and allowing magic moments to happen and memories created...things as simple as declaring "Ice Cream for Dinner!!", watching my kids play tether ball on the beach or spin on the teacups. At those times, I become so concious of the precious time I have with my kids and focus on enjoying the moment.

5) Turning back to see the "Welcome to Walt Disney World" sign as we begin the drive back home...sad to leave, but grateful for the memories to sustain me until we return.

Right after we walk under the train station and I see the castle for the firstime in the park I tear up. I feel so annoyed and try to not do it. But much to the embarassment and dismay of my family I do anyway. Good to know I am not the only one who has to cary a tissue.

Oh I cry the minute we walk into the lobby of YC - yep, I'm a weenie  Wishes, Illuminations and Its A Small World also get me every time :Pinkbounc

I always try to start my trip at MK and make sure I end my trip at MK, complete with Wishes. What really gets to me is walking out of the gate that final night, knowing I am traveling back home the next day. It seems like the walk of doom! And what really got to me on my last trip is when I was walking out of the gate, with my eyes tearing up, I looked up and saw Mickey on the train station waving "good bye". Well, that pretty much did it for me! However, I perk up when I know I have already planned my next trip so I will be back! :flower:

Hey, I'm from South Jersey! Going to the world Dec 4-14. 25th Anniversary trip for hubby & I. Can't wait.
I get teary if I see a WDW commercial! So many memories and they all all good.
I have a screen saver of myself, My mom (68), DD (24) and my princess, DGD (4) at the Princess tea this past August. Every time I look at it I swell up at that memory. It was the most magical day. My DH says I should change to another pic but I just can't let go of that trip. Girls only and it was wonderful. I've got tears running down my face right now :umbrella:
I think we feel this way because we know the memories will be with us forever. My FIL and MIL are both gone now but I think of them often and our trips to the world. My kids still talk about FIL and his favorite ride was the restroom. :rotfl2: Besides crying is good for the soul. I cry and laugh at the same time, but I have been told I am overly emotional. :rolleyes1

I got a little misty-eyed watching the film on Walt Disney @ MGM, I forget the exact venue. There are some people that should not be allowed to die, and he was one of them. Also, when they stopped selling Ringnes beer at Norway in Epcot, I bawled like a baby.

I think it's the magic and pixie dust in the air.
Everyone's a kid, everyone's imagination is sky high.

My DH almost cried once when the ice cream carts didn't have Mickey Ears. He stomped his feet and pounded his fists on the ground :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I pretended I didn't know him

I don't even make it past the security shack!!! When we arrive at Satatoga Springs and the security officer says "Welcome Home" I just get a tissue out of the glove box. :goodvibes

:p I got all teary at the end of Soarin' when you-know-who flies out and starts the fireworks over the magic kingdom on screen. I also cried watching the Circle of Life sequence in the Lion King/take-care-of-environment show in the Land Pavillion. That song is so powerful it gets me emotional everytime...especially seeing it on that huge screen! It did inspire me & DH to start recycling, though, ever since we got back from Disney in August.

That's why I love Disney entertainment...in a world of stress, disappointments, and an entertainment industry with a lot fluff--Disney can move me emotionally. I can't wait to go back, but for now, I have my Disney Movie Club membership. :)

Seeing the castle.
Wishes.
And the movie along with "One Man's Dream" . . .just to name a few.

I get tears rolling when I see a Disney Commercial! I'm not kidding you, I even got teary eyed last weekend when I went to Disney on Ice and saw Mickey come out. I was so excited people around me probably thought I was crazy. I also get teary eyed when I enter the World for the first time and when I leave, of course. Also, when I see Mickey I get all emotional. Illuminations also does it for me everytime. Can't wait until January !!!!!

I just feel apart once when we were leaving....just crying in the car....

My hubby said, "what is wrong?!?" I said, "oh, our babies are growing up and this will be the last time we come to Disney world together....it just breaks my heart to think that this part of our lives is over." He was very sympathetic and all.

That was 2 trips ago! :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Here's something really pathetic. I've only been to WDW once, for a few hours, back in 1992, and it wasn't exactly magical. So, here I am. I've been planning for over a year, researching and organizing and researching some more. I begin reading your note, here, and I'm tearing up at the possibilities.

DH asked me last night what he could do to make it magical for me, since I've been so busy creating magic for the boys. I told him that, if I get the expressions in real life, that I've imagined in my head, and I catch the moments with my camera, it'll be magical.
