Anyone else flying out the night before Thanksgiving?

Well we are and I am stressing over it!! I'm not sure what I was thinking when I booked this! I could have waited till the next day when most are already at there destination and then flown without the stress. The news tonight is already talking about the travel issues involving one if the busiest travel days of the year!!

Also when I booked this thing back in the spring the flight left at 7:30pm. My DH was going to leave just a little early from work and the kids already get out early that day. As the travel time has gotten closer they have moved it up to now leaving at 6:10pm!! So now DH has to scramble a little more to get out of work earlier and I have to pick the kids up from school early. We have a 2 hour drive to St. Louis to the airport. During evening traffic hours. I can't sleep just thinking about it!

While you are correct, and it will be crowded at most major airports on Wednesday, it does seem that more and more people try and get out as early in the day as possible. While many people need to leave at the last possible minute, like after work on Wednesday, many more people seem to pack the airport first thing in the morning. The later your flight leaves in the day, things seem to be more mellow than the AM hours. Good luck.
