Anyone else find themselves saying this at dinner?

"Clean your plate, so you'll be tall enough to ride the Rock-n-Roller Coaster!"

My 1st grader (a TOT veteran) is so eager to ride RNRC...but he has about an inch to go before he hits 48" and our trip is in January! I'd better buy him some thickly-heeled shoes...

:lmao: YES! I have a 1st grader (DS), too. I don't say the name of a particular ride, but I always say something like, "Finish everything so you can go on the rides at Disney." He's always asks, "Which rides? Which rides?" and I just smile slyly and say, "If you finish your chicken and veggies you'll find out!"

Um. . . yes, I may have said that a time or two!!! :goodvibes

:rotfl:

We don't ever tell DS to clean his plate (food issues on hubby's side for that very phrase), but he does follow the "get tall for Grizzly" diet plan, of lots of good fresh whole food. :)

We do the same thing! My DD3 is so close to the 40" line and so badly wants to do ToT and the mountains. While I never ask her to clean her plates- I will encourage her to eat more by saying she needs good nutrition to help her grow for our next Disney trip! It's usually good for two or three more bites!
That's too funny!

thats cute....but no i dont ever make my kids clean their plate. we eat until we arent hungry anymore.
but i have deffinately used in other instances, although at the moment they escape me.

Not necessarily clean your plate as we have picky eaters as it is. However, "Eat your food so you'll be tall enough to ride Splash Mountain" has been said on previous occasions! Now that they know they're tall enough, we'll have to move on to Space Mtn ;)
