Anyone else doing Amazon's Mechanical Turk (for $$$$!!!)

I read about it a while ago and went and logged into it tonight - www.mturk.com.

It's interesting. Amazon pays you to look at pictures and try to find the best picture of a business. Once you build up a good reputation, I've heard they have other thing they pay more money for. Cash money folks - for sitting there looking at pictures.

They're offering the services of us smart humans.

In the case of identifying these addresses - it's something a computer couldn't do. You can see the name of the business or the address and say yeah that's it. A computer cannot. I'm assuming this is for a mapping service of some sort.

I really don't get what they're after.

They give you the street address and name of a business. You look at the picture to identify either the street address or the name of the business on a building in the picture. If you do not see the name of the business or the street address of the business in the picture, then you pick "none of these pictures represent this business". It's really very simple. This thread got me started on it, it's a little addicting actually. In the majority of the pictures I've looked at, it's been "none" of the pictures. I've made $1 this morning!

Do you only get money for the ones you can find...most of them i can't find anything in the pictures to represent the businesses I have 21 done and only 6 cents! And boy oh boy would I NOT live in most of those ares they are showing me in those pictures LOL!!

You get paid for every 'Hit' that you do that the submitter does not 'reject'. I'm not sure what qualifications they look at for rejections and I wish I knew which ones they rejected so I can know what I did wrong. It takes them a while to approve some although they say "quickly". I did over 500 of them last night and nearly 300 are still pending approval.

Got $4.83 in my accuont right now. I'm just not sure it's worth it unless the value goes up a little more. I know they have other things to do that pay more. I assume you have to trudge through the image stuff first.

I'd say that 80% of the sets I look at are "Not pictured", etc...
