Anyone else disappointed with the new planning video?

This may have been discussed before, as we were gone for a bit on our vacation, but is anyone else disappointed w/the new planning video? DH & I were watching it last night, and DH even said, if you're not familiar w/Disney, it seems really confusing! It looks like one big info-mercial for their new Dreams stuff. At least w/last years w/the 4 people in it, they gave you facts. This, they kindof fly thru everything in record speed, flipping around, and pay more attention to everyones 'dreams'. Did anyone else think that?

Personally, I thought it was much better than the one from the previous year.

The one from the previous year didn't sell me on Disney at all. I found the hosts annoying, and there were so many quick cuts that I couldn't see hardly anything that they were supposedly showing me.

The current one is much more slickly produced. It plays on your emotions, shows you some decent shots of the various attractions at the parks, and then plays on your emotions some more. That's what I expected the Disney propaganda video to be like the first time, frankly.

I agree 100%. We watched the video over the weekend and sat there just saying :confused3 and

We were very underwelmed by the dreams showed in the DVD. We kept waiting for them to stop that and start showing the fun, but it never happened. We stopped after a while, and that has never happened before. We usually look forward to watching the DVD, and watch it all, including all the special features, etc. Not this time :sad2:

My family was so disappointed with it ... we threw ours away as it wasn't worth watching again.

They definately spent too much time on the people and dreams and not enough on actual information. We were disappointed too. My 9 year old kept saying "Fast forward these people, it's too much!" :furious:

I liked it, but I agree that it wasn't very informative! On the MK section, for instance, they only show a few attractions, and only call a couple of them by name. Isn't the whole point of the video (well, for people who are actually using it to plan, not just us weirdos who just want to see WDW again) to help you become familiar with what there is to see and do?

I liked that they had cast members in it, but all of the talking about Dreams got old after a while. Show us the parks already!

I don't think I even remember seeing any info about Fastpass- did I miss it? The old dvds always stuck in info about it everywhere they could!

I miss the ones with that guy that was on Trading Spaces once... they had the dancing park hopper ticket? Those were the days!

I *did* really like the expanded resort info section, though!

We used to watch the video over and over again. Then we got the new one. Hate to disagree with Jacqueline Susann, but once is more than enough.

I got bored after a while of watching it. In the beginning I kept thinking "Wheres the action and excitement?" It would have been alright if they kept the "dreams" for the beginning but not all the way through. I liked the hosts of the previous DVD, they were fun and pumped. Also they really showed you around and also said what rides and places where better for kids, teens, adults, and family. This one really disappointed me.

We were disappointed. We kept waiting for it to get better.

While i did think the people in last years were annoying, I thought they did a better job of showing you everything WDW had to offer. As others mentioned, theres too much wishy washy stuff and not enough footage and info about the parks, resorts, and other activities. I really wish both videos had longer pieces on the resorts. Let's face it, thats the most expensive part of the trip if you go delux!

We kept saying it was "too serious". Although, I did like some of the individual sections better. Having the "kids" do the kids section was good. Were the kids annoying? A little, but they weren't over the top like the "teen" from last year. I teach kids around that age, and these seemed pretty average/normal to me.

Also, where was the "Play All"? My niece got tired of pushing the button every few minutes. ;)

I preferred last year's DVD too...the hosts were a little annoying, but at least they actually showed the parks and seemed excited. I liked how it broke things down for little kids, adults, thrill seekers, ect...too - it really showed there was something for everyone.

I don't mind the dreams theme and some of the people talking about their dreams was nice, but there are too many dreamers in the DVD and not enough Disney! I get the concept, but if you want to sell the parks, SHOW the parks! (aiming towards those who actually order the video for informational value!) I showed the last DVD to a friend to help convince her to go to Disney, I wouldn't have bothered showing her this one, I don't think it would have helped my case.

I love the new DVD. I hated the last one. The hosts were so annoying that I couldn't watch it more than once. This one I will watch again.

Agree. Just kept waiting for more information about Disney, not so much about the Dreams. Very brief review of the resorts. Yeah, I know I seen them all before, but I was hoping the DVD would bring the magic to my living room for a bit. Didn't work. Not good. :sad2:

I loved the new DVD! Our family has watched it twice already. I think it goes back to the original, get caught-up-in-the-magic, Disney. The last few years the hosts were annoying and too commercial.

I like it better than the Happiest celebration video. Not as informative as the previous 2 before Happiest Celebration.
