Anyone else disappointed with Mission: Space?

I rode this, this past December. I came out of it, and was disapointed. Couldn't figure out what all the hype was about.
I agree with one of the previous posters, I got more of a rush from Rock N Roller coaster.
I liked the interior, it was well done, but I just didnt get they hype.
I am going to try it again in a week, maybe I will feel different on my next ride.

My wife rode it once, but she gets motion sickness very easy, I rode it a 2nd time (alone in the capsule!), I didn't have any problems either time. I think it's a great ride, lived up to the hype!

I loved the ride! I have to say, though, as far as "thrill rides" go, I can't consider it much of a thrill ride-- it's not a roller coaster. I think just the experience of a simulator of launching into space, which is incredibly unique, is what I loved so much!

I suppose if you go in expecting a roller coaster type thrill ride, you may be disappointed, but if you think of it more as the only chance you may ever have to come however close to launching into space, it's awesome!!

I thought the take-off was great. But the ride did last too long for me. By about the third acceleration-decceleration I was ready to bail. I didn't lose it, but it took me a couple hours to recover. RnR doesn't do this to me. I have "experienced" every ride at WDW except ToT and this is the ONLY one that ever did me in if I was feeling well to begin with. I won't ride it again it was that bad. Five others in our party loved it and rode again.

I was disappointed, as well. I blame 2 factors- the incredible hype, which made me actually nervous about riding it and led me to expect a physically-challenging experience, and the fact that my wife and daughter bailed out at the last second, leaving me to ride alone. They bombard you with so many warnings (part of the hype, I guess, along with the barf bags) that it got to be too much for my wife and once she left, my daughter figured it would be too scary and left as well.

I did not find the physical sensations to be overwhelming at all. I liken the ride to Star Tours, although not as rough.

I'm hoping that when I try it again, I'll be able to appreciate it better, as some of the other posters have stated. I may never be able to convince my daughter to try it, though, which is a real shame, because she owuld love it.

Add me to the list of the disppointed!

I was really looking forward to this attraction last October when we went, but when we got off, I just looked at my DH & said, 'is that it?!?' Don't get me wrong - it certainly wasn't boring, or lame, it just wasn't 'tremendous' by any means. As an earlier poster stated, I think there was just too much advanced hype about it!

Incidentally, my DH usually suffers from motion sickness, but he loves MS - never had a problem with it! (And he dragged me on it at least four times!!)

In Feb. my daughter rode 6 times in a row. She loved it and thought it was better than expected. Too much spinning for me.

i'm going to add my 2 cents. in my opinion the ride came nowhere near the hype. it wasn't as exciting as rockin roller coaster or ToT. also if you are claustrophic, and i am, this is not the ride for you. the only thing that prevented a full blown panic attack was the presence of my dds and a young stranger.

I thought MS was ok but not wonderful like Tower Of Terror or Splash Mountain. I love the building-very stunning. The launch is very cool and then...ahhhh...that's it? I think if there was a big drop at the part where the ice starts to break away- THAT would be an awesome ending! I don't think that type of ride system could do that but it would be neat to have a bit more thrill.
