Ok...I might be the only crazy one here.......but I create a schedule when I plan my vacation. Now, I don't sit there and make sure we are on schedule timewise....I'm not that nuts ;) But I do plan which days we will be in which park, etc.

Here is a copy of my schedule.....so am I nuts, or what???? :earboy2:

If someone actually likes this, here is the Excel Spreadsheet:

(confirmation numbers are on my actual, but of course, removed on these....wouldn't want to find that someone cancelled my ressies!! :earseek: )

You've lost your mind! No not really. I too plan like that. Not a min by min sched but what parks what days and priority seating times. I also plan in recreation, breaks and down time, and I also put reminders for snacks and shopping spots I want to hit so I dont forget to do anything new.

I've done the same too! I have also made ressies since I'm on the dining plan and I want to make sure that I could eat at where I want!

How else to you know when to make ressies for? Besides, there is so much to see and do that if I used it as a normal vacation and slept in and took my time I would miss so much. As it is this will be our fifth trip, none shorter than 9 days, this one for 14 and we still haven't seen it all!

I make a schedule just like that. I started out by just making a grid on legal pad paper, and filling it in just like yours. Then my husband put it on the computer for me. The worst part, at least the part that shows how commando I am, was that I had to use a little "P" on the grid to show when we "might" have time to relax by the pool.

Thanks for the excel spreadsheet. We are going in December and hopefully I can do the whole thing myself, without DH's help this time.

Oh, the other thing I did was I "home laminated" the schedule. This is the lazy/cheap way to laminate something: Just take the wide, transparent packing tape and cover the schedule with it, just barely overlapping the pieces of tape. It kept the schedule from falling apart after the first day.

I dont know enough about computers to do it that way!!

I too take a legal pad, and make my own grid... I put the days of the week at the top of my grid, then down the side I block out times... my firsts row is Disney's emh park - the next row is "our" tentative park schedule... then Bkfst, Lunch, Dinner, extras (like parades, fireworks, Fantasmic) and last I include the row for Disney's emh PM schedule, so I can remember WHY I chose to avoid a park the next day!! :maleficen

I do list which park and any dining reservations or special events. I don't go as far as mapping out rides.

Don't feel lonely, there are many schedulers out here! Your schedule looks very nice. I too schedule, but mine is a bit more detailed, OK I'm anal about scheduling almost down to the minute. The good news is I don't get upset if we aren't on schedule.

Making the schedule is fun! Helps to keep us busy while we are waiting for our trip! :rotfl2:

Very nice schedule. I think most people at least those with the dining plan need a little schedule to follow in order to make the AR's work, since Park hours are shorter after Sept.

This thread has just made me feel so much better! I thought I was going a bit over the edge with the over-compulsive planning schedule thing, but it's nice to know I am really just part of an elite group of DIS'ers who thoroughly enjoy the World and are not going to waste one second!! :cool1: The vacation starts waaaaay before the actual trip for me! I enjoy it so much and find I am totally relaxed and not over whelmed with the Parks. :smooth:

:rotfl2: My mother does the exact same thing.....its driving her crazy that I won't let her map out ride by ride!
I think that its almost impossible to go to Disney w/o some sort of schedule! Especially if you're only going to be there for a limited amount of time, got to make sure you don't miss anything! My boyfriend thinks my mother and I are both crazy, but his family has an orlando timeshare (! ) and they stay for 2 weeks so they can afford to play it by ear.

I love planning the trip as well. It helps to build up the excitement even more. Also, it makes a great hobby!

I have my days planned out and almost all dinners. I really want to eat at Teppanyaki in Japan but we'll be there during the F&W Festival I am afraid that we won't be hungry to sit down and eat a full dinner after snacking all aournd the world...

Nope your not crazy :flower: I always make a schedule with which parks & where we are eating for the day. I also add must do rides or shows. We may not always stick to it, but it helps give us a starting point each day :maleficen

No you're not crazy, unless all us DISers are crazy. But to me that's pretty good company. I did mine on paper divided into quarters.(4 days to a page)

I plan like that too. I have copies of planning sheets and everything is spelled out. I have given them to may friends and family members.

Most people would have to plan for what they really want. And it makes sense to either put it on a computer or write it down.

My friends all laugh at me. They think I am nuts. They took one of my plans and penciled in bathroom breaks....even had separate breaks for #1 and #2 :rotfl:

As long as I am in good company, I feel better. At least I'm not the only one that needs to go to Planners Anonymous! :teeth:

Proud scheduler of 3 WDW trips

I've never put times in, just general times of day.

Great place for your conf #

But I might just be

The best part about a WDW trip is the planning! When we went in 2004 everyone gave me such a hard time because I was always planning, asking questions, reading guidebooks, you name it. I had a whole notebook of different plans etc. in addition to spreadsheets on the comp. Guess what? When we finally got to WDW our trip was so smooth and I even got complimented for getting us through without many hassels. My parents were with us, so I wanted to make sure it was perfect. I've spent many times wasting time trying to figure out where to go, what to eat, and having everyone say "I don't care" when really they do. So I made sure we wouldn't be doing that at Disney. Now we are planning to go again in June of '06 (just our immediate family, myself, dh, and 3dd's.) So of course I've still got our old schedules and I'm driving my family crazy with all my new notes. Of course now that we've all been their they are getting into the fun of planning! BTW I love your spredsheet!
