I live in North Central Mississippi and it has been raining all day! The wind is blowing and the roads are awful! I sincerely feel bad for those closer to this storm. Batten down the hatches and stay safe everyone on the Gulf. I don't remember going through this much rain when a storm was still as far away as Isadore is. I'm even thinking they may consider closing schools this far north because of the roads!

Anyway as I said everyone in her path stay safe!

Isadore has been knocking on my door for two days now. During hurricane season is the only time I dread living on the Gulf Coast, the rest of the year is heaven.

We are supposed to get some of it friday.

You betcha...I am in New Orleans. We have had TORRENTIAL rain. They estimate this afternoon we had 8 or more inches in a 2 hour period. The street by me has flooded 3 times so far, but then the rain slacks and the pumps catch up. Other areas which are lower have not been as lucky and many, many cars and homes have flooded. And to think this is "just a tropical storm".

We're starting to get heavier rain now. I don't think we'll get hit too hard since we're on the "good" side of the storm.

I don't have class or work tomorrow, so I guess that's one good thing to come out of this.

hi, everyone. stay safe and i hope there isn't any flooding around you. just heard on the news that city park had 17 inches of rain so far. we are just about to lose power. it keeps blinking on and off. my thoughts are with everyone tonight.

Hey, it was "just a tropical storm" that did so much damage in Houston last year. :( At least there aren't the winds that would come with it if it were a full hurricane again.

I'm glad it's missed us, I'm sorry it didn't fizzle out and avoid everyone. :(

We're supposed to get the heavy rains tomorrow but it really depends if Isidore heads in another direction we may be spared.:D

No wind here in Virginia, but we are getting some much needed rain!

It's been nothing but rain here for the pass two days...UGH! I won't complain though because I know that the people in Louisiana are having such a bad time of it. Hang in there, guys!

It's starting to rain a bit up here near Philly. No winds. We're supposed to get several inches of rain over night. It is much needed up here though.

Best wishes to those of you farther down South! Hang in there!

Believe it or not we are getting rain and light wind from it way up here.

Yikes! I just saw the flooding from Isadore on CNN. Everyone please stay safe!!

We've had a lot of flooding in my area.Thank goodness the rains have finally stopped. We just have a lot of wind right now. No school today here.

We're getting some rain on the Jersey shore. Nothing torrential, just on and off, and it feels cooler too.

Stay safe, to everyone in the direct path!:D

We WOULD have fared with no problems at all IF oldest DS had not gone out to help a friend. She and her mom were home alone, got scared last night and asked him to please come stay with them. He took DH car (my idea) as his is better than DH's. Well they are on their way to check it out now. It flooded there last night, and the car was parked up on the lawn of their house. Seems it is sunk in mud.

UPDATE...1 tow truck later all is well.

We're under a tornado watch until 6:17p. That's an odd time, huh?

Have taken two recent walks around the Lemonade Stand grounds... and VERY windy.... wowsers!!!!

Believe it or not, we are already starting to see the rain from the storm here. We are under flash flood watches all through tomorrow, though we aren't supposed to get much more than 7 or so inches of rain. I've seen some of the footage of Louisiana on television and my heart goes out to you all who are being pounded so hard. Stay safe!!

It has been raining here since noon Tues. It had stopped for a while, but it is starting again. We probably got around 20-25" of rain and lots of high wind. I didn't sleep last night, I was on duty - DH slept! Our power has been off since 6am today. There are 50,000 homes w/o power. They are going to try to have power restored to everyone by tomorrow morning - thank goodness for generators! We live in the country at the very end of dirt roads, 1.5 miles from the paved road. The mail man could not get down the dirt road to the mail boxes, so a neighbor met him at the main paved road, and delivered all the mail. Gotta love life in the country. We were under a tornado watch all night and part of today. We're on the east side of the storm - the side that gets most of the rain, winds & tornados. Hope things get better in LA. What a mess!
Schools and some businesses were closed today all along the gulf coast.

I need some sleep!!
