We were waiting for the DD boat from OKW last week and a CM approached my husband and me and asked if she could ask us a few questions. Basically about how long we've been members, how many points, home resort etc.

After a few questions she asked if one of us would be willing to participate in a 8:00 meeting the next morning that would last about 1 1/2 hours. They would pay the participants $50 Disney dollars. My DH said yes and was very intrigued by the meeting which was conducted by two Disney marketing execs. There was only 7 DVC members there and they had to sign affidvits not to discuss any details of the meeting.

We were curious if this is a common event at OKW? Anyone else ever do this?

Wow, sounds like something from the x-files. LOL! I'd ask the question, but you already gave the answer.

Back in 1994 my husband and I were invited to lunch at Olivia’s with another couple who were also members. I can’t remember details but I do remember that they were interested in how to get guests to tour the DVC. I remember telling them that individuals at WDW do not want to take time out to tour a “timeshare” even if was affiliated with Disney, because there was just so much to do while at WDW and time is very limited. I would love to have lunch today with DVC management.

When we were vacationing at BWV last December they called our room and asked if we would participate in a similar meeting. It lasted about the same amount of time. There were 5 or 6 DVC members sitting around a table. The meeting was conducted by one person. It was video taped.

The meeting was set up like a focus group. In this instance the topic was the Member Guidebook. They were interested in how we used it and what we thought of it as well as any suggestions on how to improve it.

They had a light breakfast available. If I remember correctly I got $70 Disney Dollors as well as some other small DVC items like a pin and a travel coffee mug.

We also won a soft cooler bag at the weekly DVC meeting. All in all it turned out to be a productive vacation.

I participated last week at BWV. It was a focus group to discuss what members like and don't like about DVC. They seemed very interested in hearing both positive information and member concerns-people were very honest in their opinions and although we all love DVC we know it could be better. I hope they truly use the information discussed by the members [it was also videotaped]. I see it as a positive step in finding out what works, what doesn't work, and what members feel could make DVC even better. Members did discuss a number of concerns openly which were very valid. Listening to concerns from members who are committed to DVC [many, including me, have 2 home resorts] should help improve quality as well as future sales-especially as prices increase!

If anybody gets a chance to do this, I would highly suggest you tell Disney to have someone view this board on a daily basis.

I believe all the members here are quite frank in their discussions, and Disney could get a lot of insight about the membership, learning what is important to us.

Now, if Disney is already following this discussion board on a daily basis, then I only have one thing to say: Way to Go! ;)

What happened to the pass replacement program? That joke of a program you came up with the multi-year pass isn't attractive to anyone, I'd bet NOBODY bought those.

How giving us better deals on passes and I'll even advertise DVC for you by wear a button or something while I'm in the parks that say "Own yourself a piece of Disney magic, ask me how"!

One more thing, DON'T SCREW with the Pool hopping either!

Gosh, I would love to be asked to attend one of these such meetings. We have gone to the members meetings at BWVs and came away with a DVC mousepad, but that is the only way we were "rewarded."

I'm going in June I hope they ask me, overall I love the program. The only thing I want to see happen is better discounts, afterall we do spend thounds of dollars with the company over time. We should be treated in a more positive way.

Back in 96 when we first purchased I was invited to attened a group there were about 12 new members ,at that time from the three resorts HH OKW BWV . They paid us 75.00 plus buttons and dinner. Then about a year ago I got a phone call one night , from a company representing Disney /DVC I was on the phone for a good hour, asking about how they could improve, what Iliked ,and disliked about it.
