Anyone else annoyed by how often the "parties" are scheduled?

I have to agree with all of the above. I also want to add that a great way to take a break without leaving the park is to ride the train. They don't make you get off anywhere, so you can ride as long as you like. It is a great way to relax and refresh.

:scared1: I agree with maxiesmom on something????:scared1: ;)

Actually, this is precisely what we did with my youngest nephew when my sister and her family came down to Disney;me,my mother,my brother-in-law and my nephew rode the train around twice and my nephew slept for almost half an hour. After he got up,Nicky was rarin' to go again.

Um no cuz I wouldnt have taken the buy out I would have figured something on my own! And to me this is nothing like that senerio at all.....but hey thanks for thinking I could run a big company like that!

Also most people do plan on the bigger things right away such as the parties and the dates do come out pretty far in advance....and a lot use TA's who should know dates and times and NOT everyone on here is an advid Disneygoer some are newbies trying to find out info...but all that being said...to me once a party is full then its full. JMO Off to tell my DH that someone thinks I could run a multimillion/billion dollar company!!! :rotfl:

Actually I was being sarcastic.
I'm not saying you could or couldn't. Don't know you.
What I'm saying your idea that once a party is sold out, they shouldn't schedule anymore is bad business. And American Auto makers have been good at bad business lately.
The equal to IF car companies selling out their cars and then not making more at meet demand.
Parties are busy and full and making money, that's why they are scheduling more. (thus making people who want them happy, which is alot of people)
That's good business. In this economy any company should do what they can to make money

Yeah I know so was I......:rolleyes2

Play nice boys and girls, and all mouse lovers. As a true lover of sarcasm, I have to say we gotta be careful online--hard to be sarcastic as it's often miscontrued. Case in point. Love to you all!:hug::hug:

I think you have hit the nail right on the head with this one. If the parties are bringing in a ton of money, than the only smart thing to do is to have more of them. If there comes a point where Disney is loosing money because they are making people angry by having so many parties, then they should cut back on them.

Make hay while the sun shines, and all that.:)

As was the case with the Pirate and Princess parties. Everyone wants to know why they were discontinued. I think it's a pretty safe assumption they weren't making money on them or they would still be going on.........

The Mk used to close at 7;00 anyways during the slow times. Now they figured they could make extra money so they schedule parties.

If you go during a slow time you get to experience the MK with very little waiting, if you go during a busy time (like school vacations you have to wait in line for everything!!!

Nothing in life is always fair, There are many good arguments on both sides. I could argue that during summer is it fair that MK stays open until 3am for EMH and the people who can only attend in November/December are shorted on the hours because the park closes much earlier, even for EMH.

The simplest solution and the fairest solution in my opinion would be to allow guests who purchase their tickets in advance free admission into the Party if they have a dining reservation on a night when Disney have added an extra party.

How the helk is that fair to people paying over 50 bucks to go to the party? Ya want in the party, you pay. And I'm glad they have so many so I can pick which night I go. The night I originally planned on going, something else came up, so going 2 nights later works out great.

Its fair because a good hour at least of the party is being taken up for your dining reservation that you are dropping a lot of money for so your probably not even going to get to experience the whole party anyway.

As I said I can see both sides of the argument, If Disney decides to change plans and add extra dates its just good customer service to say look, we understand you had plans tonight (which you booked 3 months ago) and we changed how the night was going to be operated (4 weeks ago) and through no fault of your own you have been inconvenienced. Forget the $200 you've spent on a birthday dinner with plans for a enjoyable night with your family watching fireworks and a parade, Its all your fault now once you've eaten your meal you need to leave the park.

So if something comes up and having the extra parties benefits you then its all good... I totally understand. You've got the ability to change and alter your plans. People with ADR's dont have that luxury.

Its all about turning something that would have been a negative experience through no fault of the guests own into a Magical experience that someone will remember for a long time. But once again I totally understand your $50 is way more important, maybe next time you go into one of the parks you could complain to Guest Relations that its unfair that a family who paid to get into the park just like you gets to ride in the parade.

It's all about the money.....Disney's money, that is.

we find that in the summer months we take an afternoon break and cool off, shower etc... get ready for dinner and hit the parks for round two into the wee hours of the night but in the winter months when we go since it's not as hot out we can just do a sit down lunch to recharge and go to the end of the day and spend about as much time in the park either way. we're the type of family that goes for every minute we can get not the stay at the hotel type. we live about two hours away from wdw and have done a few of the evening parties rather than go for the whole day and it's kind of nice to have that option. we did the halloween party on oct 29th and had a great time... it was the least crowded that we've been in the parks since the first year of the extra magic hours. i get frustrated too that it's an extra charge and we're more night time rather than morning people so we like it better when we can go until late into the night rather than get up early and go but i guess it is what it is. personally i get more frustrated with the rides shutting down for malfunctions than for shorter park hours. back in the day when parks closed at either 9 or 11pm nightly they had until 9am the next day to keep everything running well...not the case now.

oh and don't forget there is always the option of a later dinner and hitting the boardwalk area etc...after the park closes while your there.

The difference is with PM Extra Magic Hour is that it's not just scheduled for the Magic Kingdom because it also happens at Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and the Animal Kingdom. So for those guests who go in November/December have more options for PM Extra Magic Hour.

Is the bolded part true? I've heard otherwise and would like to find out for sure if it's accurate.
