I am so sick and tired of hearing about Michael Jackson's death. Is anyone else with me? I though his music was alright but honestly everyone dies..a bunch of celebritys died recently and they where lucky to get a single article about there death. i mean what bout Farrah Fawcet? Like earleir i was at my at my friends house and i walked into her room to find her reading a people magazine with MJ on the cover and about seven other mags with the same thing and jokingly i asked her i was like "Oh did you hear he died" she yelled at me for like thirty minutes then when she was done with her lecture i was like "Just kidding" she gave me a dirty look and went back to reading. like i know she is over the top and most ppl arnt that obsessed but honestly this has gone too far.

Yeah, I do agree with you, but people are always going to be talking about it so I'm just trying to ignore it.

I agree too. I mean, it did shock me at first, but now I'm over it...it's still sad that he died, but I'm over it. And more people I know were sad about Farrah Fawcett dying than Michael Jackson...it seems like her death was kind of overshadowed by his.

Lol, I wouldn't exactly agree with you... at all as a matter of fact. ;)
But that is just because he meant a great deal to me, and I am glad people are keeping his memory alive.
He was a great man, musician, humanitarian, dancer, father, etc. He made a huge impact on the music industry, as he was the "King of Pop."
I don't think obsessed is the word I would use to describe it. I would say grieving and remembering, are a better fit. :thumbsup2:
He meant a lot to people, whether you like it or not.

i never saw an article or tv show about billy mayes. and he was amazing:(

I got tired of hearing about MJ's death after 1 day...

I'm more upset about Wayne Allwine dying (well with celebrities. Most upset about my grandad dying this year) and all I saw about him dying was a few news articles on Google News, and that was having to search for it. This was the voice of Mickey Mouse! Barely any recognition at all...

You better get use to hearing about him for months to come!

I like him, yeah. But I don't sit here and cry my eye's out every time his songs come on.

Lets face it, he will never truly rest in peace. And I feel sorry for his family and close friends for that.

Whoever his kids go to, should be the families decision and their own privacy. They need to get all of that off the tv and out of the magazines for the kids sake.

Michael Jackson's death was shocking, yes.

That doesn't mean I still want to be hearing about it weeks later. I mean, seriously, TV Guide is still playing show after show about his life.

Walter Cronkite deserves something like that. I mean, really, he impacted the world waaaaay more than MJ. Fewer people may have know about him, but I think his impact was greater.

Comparing an international superstar known and loved by all for decades and a pitchman shown on commercials (which most people skip over) in the US is like comparing apples and oranges.

Secondly, how can you say there were no articles? I can points out 3 from one website alone.

There were articles. Maybe you weren't looking in the right places, but there most definitely were articles.

Two terrible, untimely deaths? Yes. In terms of fame, it's a no-brainer as to why MJ got more air time.

I agree that you need to get used to it. They are making a movie that is coming out in October for his This Is It concert, and you can be sure that I will be the first on in line joined by billions world wide, who want to watch it.

In a way you contradicted yourself. Walter Cronkite isn't as well known making his life have far less of an impact on the general population, whereas Michael Jackson was a household name. Every single person on the planet has heard about him. (I don't even think that is an exaggeration either!)

I'm quite tired of it too.

It's the Anna Nicole Smith thing all over again.

I just ignore it when it comes up on like tv and stuff.

One of the saddest parts is that many of the people making the biggest upset didn't give a flying fig when he was alive.

I totally agree. I cannot stand seeing people who either didn't care about him, or betrayed him, pretending to be his supporters. Makes me angry.
I didn't care at all about the Anna Nichole Smith death, because she wasn't a good role model, and it was her own fault. Though even if Michael Jackson was addicted to pain killers and what not I wouldn't care, it would still bother me the same because of what an amazing person he was.
Anna was not however.

I don't see a contradiction. Walter Cronkite, to me, is way more worthy of praise than MJ. I know that MJ was an international superstar, but WC was the king of reporting. He brought us the moon landing, WWII bombings, the Nuremburg Trials, JFK's assasination, Vietnam. He was the Beatle's first broadcast in America.

MJ brought us music, but so do a lot of other people. I dunno. To me, music doesn't hold precedence over the news and the world around us.

Also, I think that's an exaggeration. ;)

::yes::

That's how I feel about anyone who does that to anybody.

I was sad about ANS because of her new baby. I felt sad that her little girl would grow up hearing stories about her mother instead of getting to know her personally.

Have you seen her lately? She's gotten so big and she's so cute!
