Anyone else addicted to camping??

The pies we make use metal pie makers (can get from a camping supply store or often at the camp store at campgrounds) You use 2 slices of bread, then add canned pie mix, or pizza sauce, cheese, pepperoni, whatever you like. stick the whole thing in the fire, cook for a few minutes, then enjoy!

We always made the pizza ones with english muffins! Mmmmmm.........

Just got back from a weekend getaway to a nearby state park. I kidnapped my DH! I hauled the pop-up over to the park earlier in the day & DS19 helped me set up (note to self: never, ever try to back it in by hand on a downhill slope ) DH had no idea. I told him we were going up there to watch a meteor shower. I even had him watching the roadway for deer He was totally surprised when i pulled off into the campground and that i had the whole thing set up (note to self: pay attention to how DH hooks up water next time.)

The only rough spot was when we realized at bedtime that I not packed a single towel. So we had to dry off after showers with a blanket. We never did get our campfire lit--too wet & thundery. But we did lots of walking and a little mild hiking & swimming in the lake. DH was surprised to find that he can now hold his breath & swim underwater for the first time in >2yrs.
