To me the New Year just wouldn't be the same without watching the Rose Parade. I love the beauty and creativity that goes into the floats.

I've only missed it one year and that was back in 1981 when I was in the ER with a broken ankle.

So who else is a fan and what network do you enjoy watching on?

Happy New Year Everyone!

I love watching it as well, but I'll be working today. Enjoy it for me. :)

The Rose Bowl Parade is one of very few events on my "someday I want to do" list.

My plan is to watch it from start to finish today.

i love watching it and will be waiting to see the marching band from the school my mom teaches at go by...it's their 3rd trip to the rosebowl parade...

I always thought the Rose Parade was okay ... until last year! I went to visit my sister for 10 days over Christmas, who lives in Glendale, California. I stayed at the Pasadena Sheraton. We went to see the floats being assembled in the days before the parade and then went to see the parade. It was beyond words. The floats are so much more beautiful in person, the television just can't do them complete justice!!!;)

If you ever have the desire or chance to go see the Parade and the Rose Bowl activities ... I highly recommend doing it. It was WONDERFUL!:As a matter of fact, I wish I was there right now!

Oh yes, it's usually the highlight of my New Year's Day!! :)

I prefer to watch it on the Home & Garden channel, so there are none of those annoying commercial interruptions.

We love the Rose Parade! We were there in '68. Our son was just over 1 y/o. Bob Hope was the Grand Marshall. He rode in a convertable and carried a gulf club. We didn't get there very early and we just walked right up and were on the front row. It was great being there in person! The weather was wonderful, too. :sunny:

This is my favorite parade, I can't wait to see it today. :) I think all the work that goes into those floats is astounding. I would love to see them up close someday. ::yes::

I enjoy watching it. My mother lived in Pasadena for several years and they used to tear the floats down close to where she lived. Kind of makes me sentimental. *sniff*

I can't wait to see the SANTA CLARA VANGUARD Drum Corp march this year.

And as an added plus, DS has 2 friends that are marching in the U of M marching band!!!!
