I can't find out much about the Saturday evening character dinner at The Kitchen...has anyone ever tried it?
Do they have a kids menu, and is the regular menu the same? And who are the characters? Any info would be appreciated!
Thanks!!

You order off the regular menu at the Kitchen
Yes the restaurant has a child menu

Characters vary and can be changed without notice

They walk around the dining room and will chat / do pictures with the diners

I have done the character dining many times
I usually do rpr Islands for it due to the dinner menu there

Check the menus for the three places and let tea help you to decide which hotel for the character dining

Hrh and pbh only have character dining once a week
Rpr has it twice a week

Did it last year, food was good, but only Gru & Scooby Doo were present, so a little disappointing. Wouldn't go back for this reason.

The idea is you usually get one set of characters or the other.

It's different to The Superstar breakfast where you do get a selection of characters. Same with character breakfast on a Sunday at RPR.......you get more than one character.

Last year we had Gru and the minion and the interaction was fantastic!! They spent ages at each table, we were adults only and they still made our night........

Scooby and Shaggy were the same.......amazing interaction and we got loads of pictures of us all together. The characters handlers are always happy to take pictures of everyone together.

Shame you didn't enjoy it.........

To OP......you could call the hotel to find out which characters will be there on a certain night.........it's definitely worth doing........we really enjoy the interaction with them........and it's just the normal menu as Mac says so you can check that before you go.

Any idea how to see the kids menu? I can't find it anywhere!

I've never done a character meal.
But I've done a brunch (buffet) and a lunch on the terrace. Both were very good.

Check damo thread of meals/ food
Might have something in it to help you

Check out her sticky at the top of the page in the forum

We were planning at eating an early dinner at The Kitchen on a Saturday night during our stay. We had no idea it was a character meal! What are the times? Is there an added cost for the character meal?

The characters are present from 5:00 to 7:00 but hours can be subject to change

You order off the menu, no special entrees due to the character dining

Two characters will mingle with all dinners and will pose for pictures if asked

An employee is present to speak on their behalf

FYI there is updated pricing on the breakfast buffet
Price: Adults $21.00 |Children 10–14: $16.00 |Children 3 – 9 $12.00

Thank you! I made my reservations for 5 pm on Saturday, June 18. We'll see which characters show up!

Hey Doc...Sorry..Just saw this. We've done The Kitchen's "Character Dinner" numerous times and my son absolutely loves it. There is no fee, as Mac said, just order from the menu. We've always done it at Christmas time, so the specifics are possibly different. We've had Scooby and Shaggy makes appearances, as well as Shrek and Donkey. Woody Woodpecker was there a few years ago, but "officially" he's retired now. We also had Gru and a couple of Minions once. Ae Christmas, Santa made the rounds too. As for the food..never been disappointed! YUMMM! (The burgers are my fave!) Some of the dishes are huge and can easily be shared. Be sure to check out some of the really awesome memorabilia!
The staff has always been incredible with my son and we've never been rushed with the character interaction. Also...If you have time, save room for a quick treat from the Ice Cream shop around the corner..(Emack and Bolio's) :yay:
