Anyone eat at Casey's?

I'm pretty tolerant of any level of hot dog. Here at home we have a unique hot dog place (Bill's Hot Dogs) that serves dogs unlike any you're likely to encounter anyplace else in the world. They're the red hot dogs, deep fried in lard, put on soft, white, steamed buns, and dressed out with mustard, onions (except I opt out of them) and chili. Not just any chili, their special recipe. Whatever you're envisioning right now is probably nothing like this chili. There is no meat, it's...kind of...clearish/pinkish/whiteish in color and VERY spicy. I get "light chili" because the normal amount they put on will bring tears to my eyes. The recipe is top secret, and though many have tried to duplicate it at home, none have succeeded in getting just the right combo of ingredients.

Man, I could go for some right now!

So, anything that isn't a "Bill's Hot Dog" is just a "normal hot dog" to me. I LOVE Bill's Hot Dogs, but I like just about any other hot dog just fine.

This is what I love about hot dogs (and what I dislike about Casey's). It's the regionalism-- and Casey's has none of that. In and of themselves, hot dogs are simple. But add in the regionalism of Coney Island, (or a Detroit Coney), or Chicago, or a New Jersey "ripper", or a Savin Rock split dog, or a chili dog from Bill's in NC and you get classic Road Food. I'd love to see a QS or TS restaurant in the American Pavilion in Epcot that specialized in regional hot dogs and hamburger styles. Wouldn't it be great to taste test a Middletown steamed cheeseburger and a Reno, OK onion burger head-to-head?

LOVE this idea, JimmyV, but I'm sure there would be those who'd b***h and say the food's too exotic!:sad2:

FIRST thing I would do after they put me in charge of Food and Beverage in Epcot would be to transform the eatery (and I use that term loosely) at the American Pavilion into a showplace of regional American Road Food. On the menu would be The El Reno Onion Burger; the Middletown Steamed Cheeseburger; the Pueblo Green Chili Slopper; the New Jersey "Ripper"; the Savin Rock Split Dog; and the Chicago Superdawg, among others... No one would ever complain about the quality or choice of hot dogs and hamburgers at WDW ever again!

JimmyV, I can't like your post ENOUGH!

Maybe I'd actually eat at the Liberty Inn if you were in charge of the menu!

I enjoy baseball fare. It's adequate; not disappointing. Cute atmosphere. Nothing special though.

I agree, nothing special. I went right before Wishes was about to begin, therefore, it seemed as if there was a mad rush for guests to get dinner, the lines were long, as was the wait, and the condiment section was a tad disorganized.

I'd skip the hot dogs and order the corn dog nuggets instead. ;)

I'm planning on getting the corn dog nuggets there in March loved them when we went in January 2015
