I've done the New England to Orlando drive once (last April). We left RI about 3:30 a.m. on Saturday and after numerous stops, arrived in Fayetville, NC about 4:00 p.m. ish. .We left NC about 8:00 a.m. and after even more stops made it to Orlando by 2:30

The kids did extremely well, but in an effort to slightly cut the drive I thought maybe we could leave Friday about 11:00 a.m. and drive about 6-7 hours.

The best I can figure is that we would end up about Dover, DE, depending on traffic. We will be travelling on Good Friday, before the April vacation for most New England schools.

Has anyone broken the trip into a 3 day drive? If so, where is a good stopping point from RI?

Also, can anyone clarify the cost of tolls from RI to Orlando??

Leaving RI @ that time and driving 6-7 hours on Good Friday would put you around northern Md. if you stay on 95 you will not go near Dover. If you stop in Md. there are plenty of places to stay at almost every exit.
You might run into traffic in De. as they are STILL working on the toll plaza and with it a holiday weekend plan on traffic If you think of any other questions ask away I'll try to help the best I can, I drive 95 every nitght between De. & Was DC so I know the area well.
