Anyone Done This??

I am a new DVC member and have not actually stayed using points yet, but plan to soon.

My question is this - I have several family members who can come down with me at different times. I am thinking of booking a 2 bedroom villa for eight days and having one group come down for the first 4 days and a different group come down for 4 days. Over the whole length of time we will have a max of 8 people in the villa; but of course different names.

I just am not going to know who is coming which days when I make the reservation. We will not be on the dining plan and will be purchasing tickets from an outside vendor (some will be buying annual passes).

Can you book the room for 8 guests without the names or change the names later?

You can always change the names after booking. You want to change the names during the trip. I don't think this will be a problem since DDP and tickets are not an issue. As long as you do not exceed unit occupancy.

Should not be a problem, especially since you will not be using the DDP. Just add and drop the names as you need to with the front desk.

I had a long weekend in a studio at VWL, and all in all there was going to be 4different people using the studio, but only 1 would be there for all 4 nights. In stages, as the plans developed, I just put all four of our names on the ressie with appropriate phone numbers. When each arrived, they got their key, but there was a glitch. My "third" friend arrived, gave the ressie number, and her room key said "Unknown." I've always meant to ask MS how that happened. I had a copy of the e-mail message in which I added her name, and the response that it was done. This was during F&W '07.

You will need to pay for additional cleanings if you want the new guests to have clean towels and bed linens. If you are only staying 7 nights (8 days), you will only get trash and towel service on day 4 which will replace the towels and remove the trash. Anything more and you will need to pay for it yourself.

Names will be required for the room keys. So you will be required to provide names for the room keys at some point.
