Anyone done the picnic option at AK

As I was scrolling through the menus on allears, I came across a call-in option for picking up a picnic meal and taking to a spot in the park.

Just wondered what you thought of it! Sounds like a really neat idea.

We didn't do this bc we didn't know about it before we got there... But when we stopped for lunch at AK there were a few different families sitting down with their picnic "boxes" and it seemed like there was a good amount of food. It smelled really good too!!

We did the picnic and it was by far one of the best family meals we had. We received our food and found a little spot off the beaten path and just took some time to eat at a leisurely pace. It was nice to let the kids (6 and 4) be as loud as they wanted and eat at their speed. In all, it was a really good experience and we look forward to doing it again.

ps. Sometimes you get wrapped up in doing and seeing everything possible in the time you have and you miss the things that are closest to you.

We loved it and there's a review in the link in my signature, but it is now "seasonal" and no one knows when it will or won't be offered.

Yep -- currently closed and not available. When we did the picnic, we really enjoyed it. I'm hoping they bring it back.

Does anyone know when the picnic in the park might return?? We were so hoping to do it in April

Anyone down there now and have any idea if it is returning for spring break. We are going to be there the week after Easter and I really wanted to do this for lunch. Hoping they might bring it back for the busy Easter week
