We arrive Dec 20 and seriously thinking about doing the Xmas In Room Celebration or getting the tree or both!! Anyone done either. Florist said they would ship tree home for $100 yikes! Will the resort also ship these items home? I know there is two large plush Minnie and Mickey. Just making sure I can get all of this home! Thanks for any info you may have or experiences!

We didn't do the Christmas one, but we did the big Princess in room celebration.

Best thing EVER!

My daughter was in awe, and everything was more than we expected.

Everything was very high quality.

It came with a large box which came in handy to keep everything organized while we were there.

We did bring an extra empty suitcase to make sure we could haul it all home.

I was 100% satisfied and if we weren't staying Club level and have the perk of the concierge that will set up little surprises during our stay, I would have done it again in a heartbeat!

We are mailing directly to the hotel, via the United States Post office, (and not fed ex/UPS because the resorts make you pick up packages from those shippers at convention centers and charge YOU for the privilege.) a 3 foot tall pre-lit artificial Christmas tree that we got for $14.99. I am also mailing down stuff I got on sale much cheaper than what the Disney florist would charge.

Your mileage may vary but that is what we are doing.
Good luck with what ever you decide on. :thumbsup2

If I was not spending the actual holiday at Disney I would do this and we did do this last time. I shipped all our gifts...everything but the kitchen sink. Stressed me out and trying to make it a bit easier and also a little extra special. My girls are ages 8 and 12...not sure how many years they will enjoy stuff like this. They already are not interested in dressing up like a princess anymore..so sad! I am really thinking about just the tree and then two stockings filled with stuff unless someone can tell me that they absolutely loved the Christmas In Room Celebration. Just seems geared towards the younger children. My youngest will love either but my oldest would probably rather have the tree and stocking with goodies . I was hoping to surprise them while we are out at MVMCP!! The reviews I have read so far on the in room celebrations are really mixed! Decisions...decisions!:santa:

I agree with you about many of the in room celebrations really being targeted towards the younger age group..... BUT I have heard stories where people have received good assistance from Disney Floral as far as personalizing in room celebrations above and beyond what is offered on the web site. It sounds like your best bet is to call the Disney Florist and see what special things they can do for you. After you've talked with them and gotten some ideas and pricing you'll probably know whether this is the right direction for you.

Good luck and happy holidays!

I actually just ordered the Christmas in room celebration for my recent November trip. I will make this clear: THE RESORT WILL NOT SHIP THE LARGE PLUSH MICKEY AND MINNIE HOME. THis made me quite upset :headache: (as perhaps you can tell) because the Disney Florist said on the phone that the resort absolutely would ship them home and not to worry because it would be hassle-free.....Not true  . The concierge desk said it was because it is not Disney parks merchandise :confused3 despite the authentic Disney merchandise tag on the plushes.

Besides that, the celebration was great. They will not customize the room celebrations, only add to them, but cannot change the contents. The two plushes came with hats that can then be worn to the parks. We also enjoyed wearing the light-up necklaces and the mickey glasses for viewing the fireworks were a lot of fun.

I do have some pictures that I have meant to post as well. :santa:
