I didn't see any comments on this trip and this is the one we were considering for 2008. I was thinking of adding on a few nights at Disneyland Paris. Any comments, suggestions or info are so appreciated :goodvibes

This trip is new to 2008, so there won't be any comments until after the first adventure. I can say that if the Paris portion is anything like the London/Paris excursion, you are in for a treat. Also, while on my Med cruise, I visited Aix en Provense and found it to be quite beautiful. My 16 year old daughter actually said she would rather live there over Paris!

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the info! I'll go look through the Paris threads and read those comments. I wish I knew if Provence was the way to go, as we're also considering an Italian trip, but I'm thinking we should see France since I saw Italy years back and haven't seen the provencial part of France before.:laundy:

I spent five months going to school in Aix-en-Provence when I was in college. The town itself is quite nice, a smaller university town worth seeing, and I'd love to return. Provence in general is one of the best regions of France (I am biased I admit). Scenery is fabulous. Food is great. Weather is generally quite nice though summers can be hot and winters can be cold. The ABD itinerary seems to catch the major highlights of Provence worth seeing, too.

Thanks for the info! I think we are definitely going to plan on going--I am still waiting for the 2008 brochure before making any plans, though. I've been reading the Paris trip reports in the meantime, and it looks fun! I am hoping to add on a few nights at Disneyland Paris either before or after the tour.:cloud9:

I got the Paris and Provence brochure today! I was hoping to see more glimpses of it in the DVD that came with it, but it was mostly on Italy and Germany. I guess they haven't had this tour to film it before, so that's probably why! ;)

Has anyone added on a trip to Disneyland Paris with the Knights and Lights trip? Was it difficult? Is Disneyland Paris worth the extra cash to add on? We already will have passes at WDW and will stay a few nights there before flying over to France, since stopping in FLA will make the long flight from California to France a little easier for my son, I think :goodvibes

If you read MJ's blog (in link in her post above) I know she went to DLP after the Nights and Lights trip. She and her daughter had a great time, as I remember, but I'll let her tell ya about it! My DH and I are going to do the Knights and Lights this May (MJ's blog's fault) and we are adding on to DLP. I just can't see going all that way and not seeing it, ya know.

Hi ... I did DLP after my Med Cruise and loved it. It was different from WDW. A little on the expensive side, but isn't that the norm for Disney :rotfl2:

I think it was worth it, as I don't know when I will be back and I can now say I've done it. The coasters are a little more thrilling than at WDW. More loops. You will especially love Crush's Coaster.

I found getting there to not be a problem. Some people on my ABD tour did go to DLP. I believe ABD dropped them off at the train or the airport and then they paid for the shuttle. That's what I did, I took a plane from Barcelona to Paris, then caught the Shuttle bus to DLP. Lot's of signs directing you.

Hope this helps!

What did you think about the hotels there? I checked and the Disneyland Hotel was over 500.00 a night, but like stenogoddess said, I can't see going all the way to DLP for a once-in-a-lifetime stay and not picking the pink castle. That said, if the other resorts are comparable then I'd welcome paying less since all the hotel prices seemed expensive, expensive, expensive! pixiedust:

I stayed at the Hotel New York. We stayed 3 nights and had 2 full days plus 1/2 day at the parks. I loved the hotel, and highly recommend it. You were a short 10 minute walk to both parks. They have bus transport, but you could walk there faster. I did a cruise add-on, and the Disneyland hotel wasn't offered. Hope this helps!

We did Knights and Lights a year ago and then added DLP at the end. The Paris Disney hotel was VERY expensive (but so is WDW these days), the New York, and Newport and also very nice hotels at a lesser amount of $$$$. The park itself is just beautiful! I really believe that the rides which are identical to WDW are actually better at DLP. Though the park is smaller, it is truly a gem. The movie studio is quite haphazard in my view. Not a lot to see/do either. They were building a TOT when we were there and I guess it should be open by now. Easy shuttle to airport about every hour (about a 45 min ride). Very glad we saw it - worth the effort/$$$ as long as you are already in Europe!!

I'm booked with my husband and three (grown) sons for the Provence trip in June, so these posts are getting me very excited! We're planning two nights at DLP at the end, but I'm waiting for the 2008 DVC points to be released for those.

I'm thinking of flying r/t Paris if it saves any money and taking the train right into Aix-en-Provence. AbD is saying that there may *possibly* be pickup at the train station as well as at the airport, as so many guests have requested it, but that still remains to be seen. I have to call in a little while to place a deposit on this trip for a client, so I'll see if there's any update.

I'm still torn between this trip and the Roma and La Costa Bella. (I'm still in my 14-day cancellation period.) Our first AbD was Viva Italia, and last year was Imperial Cities. I've never been to France, but I really, *really* want to get back to Italy -- I just loved it!

Congrats for booking! You will love the tour, and DLP as well! Have fun!

I wonder why the Disney Adventures to Paris
does not include DLP as part of the Tour?
