Hi

we are now only 30 days away from our holiday :banana: so can check in on-line with Alamo. I have telephoned Virgin and obtained my Alamo reservation number but when I tried to do it it said "Not a valid Reservation Number you have booked through a Tour Operator, Please contact your Tour Operator"

Am I doing something wrong - has anybody done this who could advise me what I am supposed to do??

Have just completed it online as we shall be picking it up tomorrow. When the tickets arrived from virgin it has the 9 digit confirmation number. Did it with no problem at all - just needed driving license numbers and expiry dates. You then have to print the 6 page Instructions/conditions.
When we arrive there we walk straight to the parking lot for Alamo - go to the area with the car class we have purchased (8 person people carrier) and take the one we want and drive to the exit where you hand over the credit card on the booking and your driving license. Job done.

Personally I wouldn't do online checkin that far out just in case anything happens and you have to cancel.

Thanks - perhaps I am being a bit keen then - I will leave it until the tickets come at least!! Thanks for your help xx

Thanks for this thread, I didn't know you could do online check in for the cars, but it looks like a fab idea

I'm still waiting for my tickets from Virgin, but as soon as we get them I'm off to do the online check in :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Hi i have done this for my trip in september, i also used my debit card for the credit card details.
Did you put the right web address in to reserve your car as it isnt through the normal alamo way
https://www.alamo.com/index.do?action=/hotDealsTemplate&msg=redirect-alamo-virgin

That is the link i used. I also only had to use my virgin referance number and not an alamo ref number.

So you didnt have a problem exiting with the car when you had done this with your debit card as you had booked with virgin holidays?

I havent been yet i dont leave till september, but last year when i booked my car i only used my debit card for the transactions. There is a $30 fee when you collect the car thats comes off the card when you pick this up. It isnt for any other charges.

Have just done the Alamo online check-in with the info that Virgin sent with the tickets/vouchers. Very simple - hope the pick-up of the car is as easy as outlined. :)

Oh and by the way, can I say.... Single digit dance!!! Shake it, oh shake it.... :dance3:

Arrived in Florida yesterday (Mon) having done Alamo pre-checkin. Nice and easy - just walk to the row of vehicles which match your booking and choose the one you want. Then drive to the exit and show your docs.

If you want some help there is a Virgin kiosk next to the Alamo cars.

From getting off the plane to driving out the airport took 2 hours. Main problem was long queue at immigration.

Just got my tickets from TCS with all my Virgin flight info and car hire on, but, when I try and check in with Alamo it says I can't :sad2:

Do you think this maybe because we have booked through an operator?

Any help would be great, I'd love to do online check in to save a bit of time with the kids

Me too single digits ... :dance3: ...:dance3: ...
