Anyone done IVF?

You all are so amazing!
I came into work this morning and as I sit here reading all your responses with tears in my eyes, I'm so grateful for wonderful people like you!
This is a very trying and confusing time, but with my VERY poitive attitude and my best friend (DH) by my side, I think we can get through this with a new baby as the end result.
I'm also realistic and I know nothing is guaranteed and we know when "enough is enough". My marriage, my faith, and my well being are the most important things!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the well wishes and prayers! We appreciate it greatly!

Add another positive IVF (w/ICSI) story to your list! It was such a long haul over several years with fertility drugs (pills & shots), AI's, different clinics, surgery and the month after month heartbreak. However, the first time that we tried IVF we were successful! 3 cells were implanted, of which my dh named, "Luther, Jr. and Mary"...yes, he is a redneck! And, little Mary made the whole trip through, to become our sweet princess Kendall ! There isn't alot that I can add that others haven't already said. You have a great outlook, and you HAVE to keep it! My motto was "Keep the Faith".

I highly recommend visiting a Reproductive Endincrinologist (??), as they are specialized and can tell you so much more than a regular Dr. That is one regret that I have was relying on my OB for too long, before finding a specialist. We ended up working with Dr. Samuel Thatcher, an expert in the field - he has even written one of the few books on the market about PCOS (which I "may" have...). I can not say enough about their operation.

One interesting tidbit... my insurance doesn't normally cover IVF. Yet, the clinic I worked with had legal ways around this, so most of it was covered! We maybe paid 30% of the final cost. And for those people that say "how could you pay to have a baby?"... let me tell you it is WELL worth it! Nothing can compare. How can you spend thousands on fancy cars or upgraded homes, all for vanities sake? Having a child is truly priceless and will bring joy to your life every day. I thank God for her every single day.

I would like to report another IVF success story (not me.) Two of my cousins have severe endometriosis. One has a two and a half year old through IVF and is now pregnant with twins. The current pregnancy took two tries, the first pregnancy one. My other cousin has a 15 month old conceived through IVF and a six week old who was conceived naturally (at the age of 39, after being told she could NEVER have children without assisted reproductive technology!)

I know that it wasn't easy for either of them. It was tough financially, emotionally and physically. Both of them say though that they wouldn't change a thing. Their children are truly precious and are miracles!

Wanted to add ((()))) and that I know of a few who have done it. Mainly from online. But, the one that sticks out is a girl I know that went through it 3 times, and on that 3rd time she got pregnant with triplets. Her girls are all 6.5 months now!! And beautiful!!

I have not been through as much as you - clomid and 5 miscarriages - but I know the pain of infertility, and I pray that IVF is successful for you!!!

Keep your chin up, say some prayers, and I believe faith will get you through. It's what put this little one in my tummy now (well, that and that deed..)

I suffer from another form of infertility, recurrent miscarriage. I'd love to do IVF with PGD like Courtney Cox did. But talk about big bucks! Have you tried www.inciid.org ? Wishing you the best!!
