Anyone done "Dine with Shamu" at Sea World?

Hi, all. Just trying to get some opinions on "dine with Shamu" at Sea World from those who have experienced it! Was it worth the $$? How was the food?

Hi Crista,
I did this but it was back in Sept 2002. So I'm not sure how things have changed. The food was ok----casual, nothing spectacular, buffet style. Nothing was bad.....it's just that the price of the meal is more for the benefit of the experience with Shamu vs the food experience. I recall casual picnic/bbq style food. The experience was cool. I heard that the earlier you book, the better chance of a good table you get. Some tables are tank-side, and others are one aisle or so away. We had a really up-front and close table to the Shamu and the trainers. Be prepared to get a little wet during this meal too !

My family loved it!

We did it in December 2005.

The weather was cold & drizzling. I would have left SeaWorld if we hadn't already booked the dinner.

To our wonderful surprise, the dinner was the highlight of our trip.

Our table was against the tank. The whales came right up to the rocks next to us! It was an incredible experience.

The food was fine -- nothing outstanding, but a variety that satisfied all in our family. My boys celebrated their birthdays and the staff was very festivie & brought them a piece of cake with candle & had everyone sing.

It was worth the cost to us and I am very frugal, so saying it was worth the cost is alot for me.

We did this a couple of years ago and loved it. We got a table right by the tank, which was definately a plus.

Dinner was great. In our opinion it was the best buffet we had during this 3 week vacations. Desserts were to die for

So, yes, for us it was worth the money.
