We are booked on the 9/18 cruise and our DS will be 3 1/2 months old - does anyone have any suggestions for shore excursions or activities we can do with a baby? Most shore excursions are age 5 and up it seems - should we even bother, or just go ashore on our own? Anyone who's been on the cruise with an infant, especially anyone who's been to St Thomas or Antigua - help?

Hi,
Congrats on your new baby and welcome to the board.
I have 3 girls and the youngest is 3. We were on the May 8 western and we just went into port on our own. With a child that young I would go on your own . This way if the baby fusses you can go right back to the ship. You can also go at your own pace. Just my thoughts.

hope this helps

I agree with cindalu. We had DD3 and DD4 and chose to do ports on our own.

How would you feel about leaving your DS in Flounders while you and your DH do an excurion? (There are varying opinions on this subject).

We've thought about it, but 1)weren't sure it was something we were allowed to do and 2) didn't think it was a good idea to be separated that far - us on shore and him on the boat. Most likely we'll just do a tour excursion in one place and do our own thing otherwise.

Thanks for the input!

I wouldn't feel comfortable leaving my children on the ship without me either, but many people have successfully do it. I hope you do take advantage of Flounders at some point so you and hubby can have some alone time. You deserve it, and from what I hear, your baby will be well taken care of in Flounders.
