I don't think they ever let you take the leftovers back, even in the beforetimes, so that's not surprising.
We went last week on the Fantasy, as pp stated no buffet; but I think most of buffet items are still available as part of appetizer plates. Our waiter encouraged us to order as much as we wanted, and to try lots of things. We started with breakfast foods, then bread and pastries, pizza and a calzone, then lunch dishes and then almost all the desserts. We enjoyed everything and felt it was worth the cost. I've heard lots of people recommending the chicken parm which was heavenly, but I have to also highly suggest the calzone.
Can your friends just add it on their reservation? Are there any spots left?We are going in a couple weeks on the Magic and super excited. I initially booked for 2 but would like to increase the reservation to 4 as we have friends that joined the cruise last minute. Any idea how difficult it might be to update the reservation when we get onboard? I'm scared of cancelling our current reservation in case I can't get another reservation.
Do NOT cancel your reservation as you might lose it when trying to add the other party. If the other party is able to book a table for two, at a similar time, on embarkation day, you can ask one of the MDR managers to join the two separate parties at a single table. We are going in a couple weeks on the Magic and super excited. On the Dream/Fantasy, most of the two-person tables can accommodate three (for booths) or four for the square tables (which can fold out to become a round table to give a 4-person party more table space). I have not been to Palo's on the Magic (yet) so I do not know if the table configuration is similar to Dram/Fantasy. If this is the case, as above, on embarkation day, speak to an MDR manager and ask if they can add the other party to your reservation.
This works as I changed a two-person reservation to three just this past Friday, even though the reservation system showed no availability!

QQ: Could someone remind me what the dress code is again for the Palo Brunch? I was watching a few Brunch videos and seen people wearing everything from a button down to Jacket to a polo. During this post covid times, has the dress code become more relaxed? I remember wearing a jacket.
I've NEVER heard of this before other than if you were staying in one of the suites. That is AMAZING!I did the first Panama Canal cruise, and I got the VERY strong impression that the people at Palo were bored. I ended up eating there three times, and they sent us back to the room with a crazy amount of food. My favorite was the "here's two souffles and a dessert pizza for second dessert". Palo leftovers were once a thing!
You send a message to the dining team in the app.Who do you speak with to make changes or find out if there are any Palo slots available once onboard on embarkation day? Pre-covid, I remember going to a specific area to get a last minute reservation?
