I just got my reservation code for the Room for 1 More event at the Contemporary & was wondering if anyone else was going?

Materialize, Foolish Mortals for an underworld party of the Haunted Mansion at Disney's Contemporary Resort, where the disembodied are dying to take you on a Fright of Fantasy. Our Ghost Host will ensure that the residents of the Mansion are in high spirits and ready to greet you as they come out to socialize and immortalize during the evening.



From tombstones to headstones, we have left no stone unturned as we invite you to step through the graveyard gates of the Mansion cemetery, recreated with ghoulish delight inside Disney's Contemporary Resort. Here you can dine in a mist enshrouded banquet realm hidden among the crypts. While the organ plays, restless spirits will rise to entertain you during a Mansion's feast where everything is laid to rest by our Ghoulish Gastronomists. The cryptic dreams that haunt you in the night will be exchanged and explained by expert apparitions. Don't fear - there are plenty of other restless spirits just dying to meet you throughout the night!

Looking for somewhere to retire? Might I suggest our Ghost Gallery in the Library, you will definitely want to keep the supernatural in suspense by bidding on priceless first editions and other creepy keepsakes in a silent but deadly auction.

Should you care to join us, be sure to bring your death certificate as final arrangements need to be made on your behalf for a spook-tacular event. Don't be left hangin' in regions beyond -

DW and I received the e-mail saying our entry was drawn for the event.
We have gone back and forth several times on the event.

We were all set to go but then word came down that my wife's company is going to announce layoffs next week. Based on all her performance reviews, she should be safe, but one never knows. We are 75% sure we will will be going to the event.

The hard part is the event goes until 9pm and we want to be at MK the next day for the 40th.

Come back and let us all know how it went. In addition to the $285 pricetag to get in, it sounds like they are hoping you will open up your pocketbooks a little wider to bid on all sorts of items. Are the proceeds going to charity? If so, I would be more inclined to attend something like this.

I wonder if the random selection was based on income.

This is something I would have totally made a point of going to. How did you learn of it and do they do it every year?

I actually learned about it here on the Boards!!
But sadly, I am not going-
Once I started pricing everything out, it was just way too expensive for a weekend.
Over $500 for 2 tickets, plus airfare, hotel, food.....

If anyone else goes, please let us know how it was!

Yes, DF and I are attending this event. VERY excited. Missed the original announcement, in July, of the ticket RSP process and was so sad. Then a couple of weeks ago, the Disney Parks Blog announced that there were still tickets available. I immediately snagged a couple. Sounds like major fun.
