Have any of you done VIP Fantasmic seating over the last four nights (June 13th, 14th, 15th, or 16th)?

If so, could you share your check-in experiences? Since there are discrepancies between the "old" and the "new" check-in times, your most recent reports would be very helpful!

Thanks, in advance!!!

For those of you who read my post regarding the Fantasmic Premium Seating Check In times, here's my recent experience from Tuesday, June 17th:

Since I had no recent clarification from anyone, I decided to bite the bullet and try to be the "first in line", no matter when the check in began. BTW: ALL of my documentation (my tickets, my Fantasmic VIP receipt, and my printed itinerary from GCH) stated that there would be a 7:00 pm check in. So, going with the documentation I had, I was in line by the Churro cart podium by 6:00 pm and yes, I was the only one there. :hyper:

I didn't know whether to expect anyone else that early or not, but I was glad when the next ticket holder joined me around 6:20 pm. We had both been given the same information regarding 7 pm check in (it was on paper for both of us). We had a very pleasant conversation and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting her, so I felt my time was actually well-spent! :)

By 6:45 pm, the line had grown to about six or seven people, all of which had been told check in would begin at 7 pm. However, there was still no sign of any CM or any podium. Right at 7:00 pm, out came a CM with a podium. He set it up and set up his "ropes" and we patiently waited, expecting him to check us in as soon as he was finished. Around 7:10 pm, he announced to all of us that check in would begin at 8:00 pm and BOY, oh BOY, there was nearly a mob uproar! Everyone started chiming in with their "story" of who told them 7 pm and who had what documentation. He looked at our paperwork and, once he studied my documentation, especially the receipt that came with my tickets and the tickets themselves, all of which said to check in at 7 pm. He attempted to explain that the "new" policy is 8 pm check in, but he would try to call a manager to ask about it. Five minutes later, he said he could not reach his manager, but, due to the actual wording on our documentation, esp. the tickets and the receipt, he decided to go ahead and check us in at that time. :cool1:

FYI: I purchased my tickets exactly 30 days prior to the 17th show, so, I'm not sure when the wording will have changed on the tickets and on the receipts. Even though I purchased on May 17th, I'm sure the tickets weren't actually printed until we arrived to the GCH (or just prior to that).

So, here's the bottom line: We lucked out that he was willing to check us in and I would not expect that to happen each night. The new rule is, in fact, check in at 8:00 pm.

My review:

Yes, I had to stand in line and play the waiting game, but I wanted so much to have the Fantasmic VIP seating to be a highlight of our trip that I was willing to play the game. I'm VERY glad I did, because we had the best seats possible (1-3 -- no one was in #4, so we basically had a full row)! The view was unbeatable and unforgettable! Our server was excellent and went out of his way to accomodate us. Although it is not mandatory, we tipped him at the end of the evening. Although I did not even get to open my dessert box until later that night, long after the show (I was filming during Fantasmic and the Fireworks!), I, for one, was very happy with the dessert box and the value of "what we got" for our money. The food in the dessert box was fresh and there was a good variety of foods. I was pleased with the quality and the taste of the food. :thumbsup2

Overall, the Fantasmic Premium Seating was definitely a highlight of our trip and we will absolutely take advantage of it again in the future. I also would wait in line all over again so I could be first in line to get those excellent, unobstructed seats. ::yes::

Although the VIP experience doesn't appeal to everyone, it was well worth our time and money!

I hope this review provides useful insight! :) :goodvibes :)

Thank you, thank you, thank you....:yay:
I was so glad to hear your experiences... We will be doing this now. Me and my 3 daughters will be there in April 2009. We are from Australia so we don't get to DL often/ever... so this will be a special thing for us to do.
So glad to hear you had such a good time.

I will be sure to line up early to get the best seats- is there a safe place nearby for my girls to sit and read while I line up?

Thanks again for the great info, can't wait:)

You bet! In fact, after I checked in, my husband found a great place for us to sit and relax until it was time to go to the show. :goodvibes

Straight back from the Churro cart and directly in front of the New Orleans Square Railroad Station is a little "roundabout" park-type sitting area with a water fountain in the center and benches all around the fountain. It is between the Haunted House and the French Market restaurant and it was a great place to just sit and relax. You will probably be able to see your daughters while they are there, if they stand up and wave at you! ::yes::

I'm glad my review helps you with your decision-making! We loved the whole experience and, as mentioned above, it was worth both my waiting in line and our hard-earned money! :thumbsup2

Happy planning and anticipating! :) :goodvibes :)

Thanks for the information. I will be doing this on thursday and was a little worried as to when we actually would need to line up. So this is very helpful. Thanks.

I won't be able to have them that far away from me (no other adults traveling with us and the eldest is only 11) Can they just plonk in the ground near the Churro cart??? Sorry if it's a silly question, haven't been to Dl yet so I am trying to picture these things...:confused3
Thanks for the info

That sounds like a great way to see Fantasmic. I might have to look into that for our next trip! Thanks for sharing your experience!

OzVisitor: there are no silly questions, especially when it comes to your kids! I don't know the answer to your question, but playing it safe when it comes to your kids is never silly! (have a great time at DL!)

My ? is what if you don't check in for your seats and show up at 8:40 pm to be seated then what ?

There has to be seats for you since you purchased a ticket?

I did this in may 30 the seating and check in was 7pm and I got front row and it was great loved it.

Ahhh..I see...that does present a different issue! Yes, there is a place next to where I was standing and off to the side of the Churro cart where they can sit and wait for you. There is a "landing" kind of to the side and behind the Churro cart, which is out of everyone's way (not near the stairs, which are to the left of you), where they can sit and wait. In fact, if I remember correctly, there was a shaded area right there where they can sit.

I have a good picture I can show you to see "the area" on the other side of the pillar, to the side of the cart, but, for some reason, I cannot post it here in my post. If you PM me and give me your email address, I'll email it to you! :)

Hope this helps! :) :goodvibes :)

We are still trying to decide if we will keep our reservation for July 1. The issue for me is the wait.....we decided to spend the money to avoid sitting around for two hours to get a good spot. It seems to me that we are sitting around for almost 3 hours if I go and stand in line at 6 in case some people are still being told check in is 7pm. Why can't they assign seats when you book, based on order booked? That way you don't have to wait and you can decide if you want to pay based on your seat assignment!

If I decide to show up at 8 and take whatever seats are left, how bad can my seats be?
